Glad they finally detect duplicate photos. Just two more pet peeves left to address: 1. Automatically hiding screenshots, archiving, or some sort of way to manage screenshots easily so that they're not in our photos library; 2. Sharing existing albums (currently have to create a dedicated shared album) - every album should be sharable by default.

Always love the videos Nikias, they never ever disappoint me. Been watching for about 3 years now and the quality continues to improve! This was a fun one to watch, I always love the B roll shots because of the aesthetic, and A roll shots always have the most pleasing background to look at 💛🍋

I organized iCloud Photos very well, used all the features. When I see the map, I feel like want to travel to add my memories to it. I have 7,806 photos and 258 videos.

Hey Nikias, love your videos. Would love to see a vlog where you leave your iPhone at home and last the whole day on only an Apple watch. Advice from someone who tried this, keep a battery pack, a watch charger and turn off the always on display. I would love to see as many perspectives as possible on this challenge

Its more a feature of the camera app, but if you take a photo of a monument or building in a busy place, you can take a live photo and convert it afterwards to a long exposure. This will remove a lot of the people or cars that have been passing by...

One feature i wish apple photos on iOS had is something that I think Google photos has. It’s where I can organise photos into folders and albums like apple but then you can “hide” or “archive” them so they no longer show up in the library but will show up in the albums they have been saved to.

Thanks for the tipp with folders. I didn't really checked this option. to the questens how many fotos I have is now the answer 66k. But there are many pictures doubled so, I wanna have iOS 16 and hope the doublecheck function will be great. greeting from germany Tobs

A feature almost nobody knows, is when in "Year View" you can scrub over the cover to immediately go to specific month.. so if you know you want to look up September 2015 for instance you're hyper fast

If you have a ton of random photo albums that aren’t important to you but still want to keep them to reflect on or whatever then I highly recommend just making a miscellaneous/misc folder, it’ll save you a shit ton of time/space!

Hey Nikias, great video with some useful tips there! Thanks! May I ask about the location on photos? Although I have all the time the location enabled in each photo detail the location is generic, like the town I live. I’ve seen in many KZfaq videos photos with the location exact (for example Trafalgar Square or Eiffel). Greetings from 🇬🇷

Could you be talking about Location Permission? Check your Camera's location services, over there there should be a toggle for Precise Location. Let me know if you found something else along the way too

Any suggestions on how to make these features work with shared albums? My wife and I are often together and create shared albums vs sending each other the pictures to save individually.

Hi, I have around 60k photos and 2500 videos all organised in year folders and albums inside it. Do you know if you can make these year folders available in ios16 for the icloud shared photo library? And does everyone also see the folders and included albums then? And are you able to create folders and albums in an icloud shared photo library?

One question I have, when I activate iCloud fotos, will the hidden album also be uploaded, because there I have private things I don’t want to be synchronized (because iPad for school for example), maybe someone can help me, thanks. ✌🏽

I’ve ran out of the 2TB that’s the maximum on iCloud from Apple - any solution to that? - most of it is taken up by my photo library, especially videos just take up so much space

Use the file app. Go to the album in the photo app and select the photos. Now go to the share function button and scroll down till you find save in files. ICloud drive or save on your device are the options. After you chose one of them, open the file app and go to the location where you save the photos. Create a folder, that is easy to do. Even a folder in a folder is possible. You can delete the photos in the photo app.

do you know of a way to "move" the photos? I want to organize my Recent photos into different folders/albums, essentially getting rid of the Recent section all together.

I chatted with apple for 30 mins last week. They don’t plan on making it that way. It sucks to have them in both places. If I move it to an album, I DO NOT want them still in the camera roll

I think photos exist on iCloud and iPhone. If deleted from one it’s deleted from both. So it doesn’t really save room

Icloud costs so much, isn’t google photos unlimited and free??? Can’t you just download google drive or photos and reuploud your photos every once in a while there…

It's sadly not free anymore but It is still cheaper than icloud and google photos has more features than apple photos so i strongly recommend it
