Part 1 of 2 of a typical Apple Time Capsule power supply repair. Buy the repair kit here: www.ebay.com/itm/110902955677/
With a power supply failure the Time Capsule will not properly power on and the LED's will flash.
In Part 1, I show you how to open up the Time Capsule, safely remove the Power Supply and identify any blown capacitors. In Part 2, I show you how to remove and replace the blown capacitors.
I have surplus high quality capacitors from when I repaired this Time Capsule. If you would like to purchase some at a good price please consider getting them from me at my eBay page linked above.

Another time capsule comes back from the grave. As many others, all I had to change were the two large caps, and everything was functional! Great tutorial and good kit!

My A1409 Time capsule Has no light when plugged in, not even a test. however, I can hear the HD spinning normally. Might that mean that the part of the power supply that powers the router has failed? Unit does not show up on Airport Utility.

You should be able to replace a faulty Delta unit with a Flextronics or any other alternative power supply unit. They are speced the same and should just plug right in.

Hello, i have a problem with my time capsule. it could be working perfectly for several hours or days, but suddenly it switchs off by itself. I unplug the rear plug and plug it again and it works again, until the next time it switchs off. Could it be the power supply? Thank you

@@highlowproductions3134 I am at least I did until it was working. Currently, the power supply is faulty. If I can get it fixed or can find a replacement I can continue using it since I don't have cutting-edge Wi-Fi needs.

hi guys, my time capsule had a huge accident, it rain alot and somehow it fell from its base onto a poddle of water, it was sumege, i have in a plastica bag fill with rice sin 24 hors ago, what should i do first..

My power supply is labeled Flextronics, but has an additional connection not shown in your video? (you showed one, but I have a black one too). And it doesn't seem to come off. Not sure if that's a problem or not.

Hi, can you help me with the next: What happens if you take the power supply, connect a SATA drive to the power supply and connect a power cord next. Should the hard drive start spinning although it isn't connected to the pcb of the Time Capsule? If it starts spinning that would mean that I can test a power supply if it "works" or if it is broken right?

☠️BLACK BARON☠️ 3:15 I tested this stuff out for years. El Capitan was the .dmg age. Very scary if a backup gets corrupted during a "WIFI session" and you try to mount the dmg image. I was utterly upset about the dmg stuff. I am still testing iPhone and iPad backup in iTunes over WIFI to check out how things are going in terms of reliability and speed.

Hi, the power supply on my Time Capsule has a different configuration. Not the same layout and different capacitors as the one(s) you have in your video with different . Any suggestions?

Hello. It is possible to replace a Delta power supply with some other series? I have a 614-0464 power supply unit and I found a 614-0412 unit on ebay. I've searched all over the internet and I found nothing about repairing a Delta unit. Thanks!

Hey highly considering buying the equipment linked (already watching it), however, I've got a couple questions: 1) my LED light does not power on at all. a) is this necessarily the power supply? (it seems to be the most common issue) b) or the plug it self?

and will this cause low power voltage to the time capsule i took it to the apple store and they said it low voltage ? maybe something to the power will this causes i saved it they wanted to give me a low coverage for it so i just kept it but seeing your video i want to fix it do you sale the resisters h do u do pay pal please let me know thank s

Low voltage reading is indicative of a faulty power supply. The repair kit is found on eBay at the link shown in the video description.

You may have a "Delta" branded power supply unit. These are not common but are out there. The Delta PSUs are typically more robust than the Flextronics ones shown in this video. If you a having what you think is a power problem with a Delta PSU unfortunately you'll have to do some more troubleshooting beyond the scope of this video.

Salmon or sammon?

Up to the end of the 15th century, the word "salmon" was spelled in English without an L, as derived from the Old French word "saumon." The spelling was later changed to be consistent with the Latin word for the fish, "salmo." Unfortunately, even though the spelling was changed, the French-influenced pronunciation without an L remained. Hence, the L in the English word "salmon" is silent.
