It is absolutely fantastic that it is working this well. This is a good thing.

Why would they disable it, when they are doing something as dangerous as skiing?

@@andrewcameron5495 The function is for people who are not responding. So how are you gonna call the ski patrol if you're lying unconscious in the snow?

It Plays a loud siren noise, and taps your wrist for 30 seconds before calling 911. If you can’t cancel the call in 30 seconds, then that just seems intentional
@xobr2 жыл бұрын
You can’t just stop on mountains going down to stop your watch until you’re at a safe location away from other skiiers and snowboarders. It’s happened to me twice but it gives you enough time now to cancel. They’re never intentional because no one wants the police to come to them for a false alarm
@GushOnline2 жыл бұрын
@@xobr How long does it give you to cancel it?
@xobr2 жыл бұрын
@@GushOnline it lasted about a minute before i got a 10 second countdown. it vibrates and gives this little chirp noise that progressively gets faster over time

I've actually heard a couple of the calls on a police scanner, a week or two ago there was an actual rollover with a person trapped inside. I remember telling someone that's the first time I've actually heard a real accident involved from a crash detection. So other than not so great on the ski slopes it does work to some extent.

So how is this different then lifealert? Isnt the potential of it saving one life worth the false calls.
@josephfarley51182 жыл бұрын
@Stoopid I know that, I was saying it’s a good thing even if it generates false calls. Dispatchers just need to get over it.

So he did fall over? The call handler may be annoyed but it works. Better being safe than sorry
@gucciguilty58483 жыл бұрын
It calls 911 why? The people who fell didn’t move up to a minute after falling?
@Kevbot60003 жыл бұрын
Yes. If you don’t dismiss the hard fall notification within a minute it assumes that you’re unable to move or unconscious so it automatically calls 911.

When you fall, it comes up with a screen saying either call emergency services, I fell but I’m ok, or I didn’t fall. It will start vibrating and make quite sounds. After 60 seconds of not moving. It will start a 15 second countdown where it beeps loudly, and then calls emergency services automatically

Yes. But if it dials emergency services and they answer, just tell them it was an accident.

No, there is a countdown on the watch but it is only 3 seconds. I believe it should be 7-10 seconds.
