Today is the day Apple finally updated the Apple Watch SE, today were checking out the Apple Watch SE 2, Apple’s new entry level Apple Watch. I really enjoyed the previous Apple Watch SE as it offered the core Apple Watch features at a lower price. The new Apple Watch SE 2 now comes at a slightly lower price, $249 / £259, lets see what this watch has to offer! Apple Watch SE 2 starts $249 / £259. 40mm and 44mm, I went for the 40mm - more proportionate on my 155mm wrist. Starlight and Midnight, I choose the darker colour best matches with most outfits, formal and causal wear. Plus midnight colour perfectly compliments iPhone 14. Charging puck - magnetically attach to charge - fun fact can also use this to charge the new AirPods Pro 2. When it came to the band I chose the Midnight Sport Band. If you are new to Apple Watch, go for this band, it is comfortable, easy to clean and will last. I have several bands but I keep coming back to the sports band. Earlier I said I like Apple Watch SE 1 for providing that core Apple Watch experience, let’s see how the SE 2 compares. The biggest upgrade the Apple Watch SE 2 gets is the new more powerful processor - in fact the same processor as from the new Series 8. Great for two reasons. 1. Watch will perform very fast today, just as fast as the S8. 2. Longevity. This means the Watch will support new software updates for many many years, I’d estimate 5 maybe even 6 years!. Low power mode for even more battery life, will turn of some non essential features to allow up to 36hrs of use. SE 2 also adds crash detection. One of the big things you won’t get the with SE 2 versus the Series 8 is that always on display. Apple Watch SE 2 does also have, GPS and cellular models. My advice, only get cellular if you leave the house without your phone, if you don’t, get the GPS model, saves some money and can still do calls, messages etc - just need your phone with you. Water resistant to 50m. Fitness tracking. 24h continues heart rate monitoring. Sleep tracking. Siri. Apple Pay. Maps. All the essentials. I think if you’re new to the Apple Watch this will matter less and the SE 2 is a wallet friendly great first Apple Watch! Cant wait to start using and testing the Apple Watch SE as well as comparing it to the Apple Watch SE 1 and Apple Watch Series 8. Have lots of more Apple Watch videos come very soon so stay tuned!

I ordered the SE 2 (44mm, Midnight) the day after it released and got it 2 days ago. I charged it up to full and tested out the longevity of the battery over the past 2 days. With moderate usage (notifications, workouts, screwing around with settings, map assist while driving and also music controls) I was able to manage going well over 36 hours of battery and still had about 20% remaining...all this WITHOUT low power mode! This is my first Apple Watch and I’m very very pleased with its quality and features. Stick with the SE 2 if your regular use case scenario is like mine, you literally don't need the series 8 just for the extra features which I as a doctor would get checked out at a hospital and not on an apple watch 😅 . You won’t be disappointed. Buy the SE 2 blindly😃🤙🤙👌it's the best well-rounded watch apple has made so far.

Thanks for explaining! By the way I’ve few doubts, if you can clear please? 1. Does it has low power mode to get extra juice out from battery? 2. Does it support fast charging with provided magnetic charger type-c? 3. Does it have the qwerty keyboard to type texts? 4. I’ve heard that It’s ion-x display is more prone to scratches and using protective film over display cause to air bubbles due to curved screen and little unresponsive touch as well?

as a person who wants to upgrade from my series 5 (since it’s been acting up recently) and have always had the ‘always on display’ off since day 1, im thinking about getting the se2. I also use it for my runs, notifications, maps, and time. so, do you think this is a good purchase? i’m hesitant, but really need a new watch since i use it everyday :/ pls respond, im super indecisive, and a college student. so, any purchase is a big purchase for me ^ - ^

Update: I bought one the day of when I first commented, and it’s amazing it’s really great for tracking your steps and overall health, the battery is pretty good and lasts about 2 days it’s overall really reliable since I’m a pretty active person 100% should buy since it’s so cheap.

I did bought Apple Watch SE back in April 2022. I just loved it in space grey that I got it at Target. I do have a lot of bands towards it. I still have series 1 and 2. I got the SE for this one app towards my car from my iPhone.

I got a Series 3 two years ago… right before the first SE was announced! Needless to say I was a bit miffed having missed out on that, more fully featured, model. Definitely planning on picking up this very colour of the SE2, so your video has been really helpful. The standout feature to me is a toss up between audiobooks without my phone and the new pricing, £350 for GPS/Cellular is superb value compared to the nearly £600/800 new spec’d out Series 8 👍

I have the 1st gen SE since January. Best features are workouts, and the new sleep tracking. I was curious for the SE 2, but was a bit disappointed. I hoped for a bit more improvements vs the first SE. The chip will be better, but you barely will notice it’s faster, cause the SE 1 is already real fast and smooth. Gonna wait for the next Watch SE.

You're 100% correct. I had the series 3 and it crapped out after I took it in the pool. I was going to get the SE1 a few weeks ago when Amazon had it on sale for $229. Glad I waited. For $20 more, it's better to have the latest watch that will receive updates for longer. HOWEVER, if you can find the SE1 for $175 or lower (Black Friday), that's a much better buy because 95% of the people who USE apple watches do the basics on them (fitness tracking, music, message reading) and you don't need the latest watch to do that stuff.

Hello Great video. I really enjoyed it. I bought the se 1 generation one month ago. It is my first Apple Watch. To be honest it was great choice. I’m really happy to use it. Personally if you have the 1 gen of se it is not necessary to upgrade. For normal using, only what is necessary, I don’t feel to upgrade it in next 2 maybe 3 years. That’s opinion person with very short experience with Apple Watch SE but very happy of using it so far. For oldest watch it makes sense for sure.

I just purchased this watch and was stoked about having a keyboard to text and then it disappeared! Now I only have the scribble option which baffles me. Any idea about this feature? Coming back to Apple ecosystem after almost a decade with android. I’m still debating whether to stick with my galaxy watch 4 just for fitness tracking or get series 7/8. It’s shame Apple doesn’t offer round option. ECG and health tracking would be key features I look for in any watch.

Theres also silver too… i had the new series 8 preordered in midnight but my order got cancelled so when i went to reorder i ended up going for the sale on the blue series 7 to save some money I’ve really loved that blue color but i was also going for the midnight to match everything even though i wear lots of stuff that matches the blue… but the sale didnt apply to the midnight at the time (until after i ordered or course 😂) im excited my 7 will be here today but i am a little, just a little disappointed I didn’t just reordered the midnight series 8 again because of the minimal upgrade and i would have had it already but hey I like saving money…snd that blue 😍great videos love watching!

Hi, the aluminium is quite resistant against scratches, but not completely. So if this is a concern, go for the lighter starlight color

Because the series 8 and 7 are 41mm and 45 but the bands are the same sizes as the se 40 and 44mm

Hi Rudo, it is very difficult to see the difference. From Apple I got this: You have a choice of two display options-40mm or 44mm-both of which have slim bezels and rounded corners. The back is slightly different-the new model has a nylon composite and sapphire crystal back while the older version uses ceramic-but it will feel the same. Not very helpful I am afraid
