I like this review as the person reviewing it has a series 4 himself. This is how a lot of people will see the new watch. Most reviewers focus way to much on the difference from 6 to 7. Most customers don't upgrade every year. Also, like cars, computers, and now phones, they have them locked down so they just fine tune things now.

I had my series 0 from the day it was first released in space black stainless steel. It’s still running like new and has better battery life that when it was brand new. But i upgraded to the titanium series 7 because i deserve to have a nice watch.

I won a series 7 in a contest. Can’t wait until it arrives! I’m currently using the series 3.

Got a second hand series 6 with cellular and upgraded from my series 3. The new larger screen is great. The new health options, the new watch faces, the seamless integration with my other apple devices and especially the fast charging is so great 😊 My son got my old Apple Watch 3 which still has 85% battery capacity!

I’m still rocking a series 3! Decided to upgrade this year! Can’t wait for the new Watch to come this Friday! But Apple has to get it together for the preorder process for Apple Watch!

I bought a 6 in June, I really contemplated waiting for a 7 worried that I’d miss out on something magical. From what I’ve seen the 7 is great but I’m not missing out on much.

I got a series 6 and although the series 7 looks bigger I’m gonna keep my watch until it’s clocks out lol . I just upgraded my iPhone 8+ to the 13 pro max and its was Definitely worth the upgrade but I don’t see the point in upgrading my watch

I'm upgrading from a S4. It is still working fine. I'll be handing it down to my girlfriend who doesn't have one yet. My work has a benefit that give me $250 every year for health stuff and the watch counts. It might sound like a stretch that a watch is a fitness device, but it really helps keep me motived to close my rings.

I currently have a Series 0, so I’m really contemplating getting this. Especially considering that my current Apple Watch is starting to fall apart.

I’m glad the series 7 came out…. Because that means at the end of the year they’ll be major deals on the series 6!!😂😂 I’m fine with getting a series 6.

Best series 7 review out there right now

I constantly upgrade everything. iPhone 11 to 12max pro to 13 max pro, sure. iPad Pro, I’m game. AirPod to AirPod Pro, let’s do it. However, I learned that if the difference is incremental, it rarely is worth the change. Unless there is a killer, game changing function, it’s just a slightly faster piece of tech. So I’m keeping my Series 6 watch until apple comes up with something new, rather than slightly better.

Upgraded from Series 3 because of this review! Definitely a no brainier and im blown away.

I ordered mine on Monday! I went with the GPS and Cellular in the Starlight color because it’s a great in between color and will go with any color band! I am finally replacing my series 4!

Great video-I’ve just ordered the 7 as the current 4 Nike I have is great but as someone with poor eyesight and uses the fitness apps everyday I’m sure the extra screen size will be a huge plus, also not having to wake the screen which on the 4 is surprisingly annoying is going to be so much better in terms of general usage.

I got my series 7 this morning, upgraded from series 3, (38mm-41mm) the difference in display quality and enjoyment to use is well worth the change and very happy.

I am going from a Series 4 GPS to the Series 7 Cellular. The bigger size/screen and the pulse-ox sensor are the biggest drivers for me upgrading. I ride a bike indoors using a smart trainer and Zwift. When I'm pushing hard I sometimes use a pulse-ox sensor to check my oxygen level. Having this built into the watch will be nice.

Nice review Brian. Most other reviewers don’t go as in depth on what makes it worth the upgrade. I preordered last week mainly for bigger screen and fast charging. I am trying cellular version for first time also. My series 4 has served me well.

I just came from a free 38 mm series 3 to purchasing the 45 mm Series 7. Blew my mind. Again, this series 3 was a gift so I couldn’t complain about the 38 mm size. However now that I purchased one on my own and got the one I wanted, the series 7 is amazing

Series 4 owner here. Never been happy with the Apple Watch experience. Unlike other Apple products- it’s never “just works” for me. Very slow, choppy, and unreliable operating in LTE mode. Bluetooth cuts in and out, app downloads and updates are insanely slow. Screen size isn’t he issue for me- Will need to see some serious performance improvements to speed/battery/UI features before I upgrade.

Going from a 3 to the 7 in the 41mm. The 3 was starting to be inaccurate with steps taken, number of stairs climbed and just getting slow and glitchy. Some points to also consider: The Fall detection is a plus as is the o2 sensor and heart rate monitor. Ladies please don’t be like me and fail to realize that is females have different symptoms for heart attacks. Most times they are silent and not the traditional chest pain and grabber that takes you to the ground. So those 2 features alone may save your life. Plus, for me, the sleep monitoring is also important. Love the new watch face and this review was great! Keep up the good work! Love the Green band too!

Thank you! You're the only one who went into details about the glass and clarified the ionx and sapphire glass was still a thing. Apple didn't go into details about that at their event. And yes I very much agree... I've wanted to go all in on the watch and ditch my phone, but it's just not possible because of the software. Too many things are missing.

Thank you for this great review of the Apple watch Series 7. I bought the series 6 last year. A friend got the Series 6 in the 44m screen. I liked it so much better. So, I decided to treat myself to the new series 7 45mm screen. I just love it, what a difference the bigger screen makes. (Bigger is Better…I agree with you, Apple does need to come up with more watch faces. You would think we would have 100s to choose from. Thanks again for your awesome review.

Brian what’s your battery health % on your series 4? I upgrade my watch every year but my series 6 is already at 86%, my wife’s is at 84% and it’s still just under a year old. It seems like the watches lose health faster and faster each year. I always have optimize turned on too. Great videos and podcast as usual!

The Series 7 looks noticeably bigger in the video, especially the screen. In addition, I can’t imagine not having the Always On feature of my Series 6. Keeping a Series 4 for now three years Brian must have been enough time to degrade your battery. I upgraded just for the larger screen and new battery life.

Just picked up my SS S7, switched over from an AL S4. I was unsure at first about my decision as it was an impulse buy but this review made me feel so much better about the purchase. Also, the S7 is an amazing watch

Agreed: Disappointed the LTE series 6 standalone experience falls apart if the iPhone is off (like battery empty), watch faces not updating, messaging not working, etc. Also uncool to not allow new watch faces on previous series. It’s SW. So I am not upgrading again before this changes.

I upgraded my 12 pro max to a 13 mini but I'm really happy with my series 6 stainless steel gold watch. Just got a couple of new bands and it feels fresh af.

It’s annoying how Apple acts like those new watch faces can’t actually be used on the prev models. I get they’re just tryna incentivize people to upgrade but still, it’s an arbitrary limitation

I like the starlight that’s the one I got, I like it because of the fact it’s in between gold and silver that makes it unique. I think it’s versatile with different bands too I think the lavender bands or light green bands will match nicely

I have the series 4. But what I don’t like as a woman. The size. It keeps getting bigger and thicker. I wished it was thinner in casing.

I’ve been using a hand me down series 0 for about five months it’s been hard to use because it’s so slow. Finally getting a new series 7 with cellular tomorrow should ship. Series zero which is so hard to use everything you try to do super slow.

I have a Nike Apple Watch 3 GPS+Cell and long debated a new watch. I came across a Nike Apple Watch 6 GPS+Cell for $399 from $529 and I ended up upgrading. The $399 price seems about average for a previous generation watch, but I just jumped 3 generations of watches so I feel comfortable with the decision. The leaks about the Apple Watch 8 is giving me buyers remorse, but I have to remember that it's just leaks and nothing confirmed yet. Thanks for the review, BT!

I think I'll wait for next year. I upgraded my phone this year from the SE, but I think I'll hold off on upgrading my watch, the Series 4 is great still, the bigger screen would be nice, but I can't imagine it being as much of an improvement for how much I use it. Biggest benefit would be battery life probably, I'd probably turn on the wrist gesture to activate the screen if I upgraded, but that's about it. If they improved the battery life more, I'd be much more interested.

If they change the form factor for the Series 8, the watch bands will all need to change too. Which is why I’m waiting.

My Hermes S4 did great until 3 months ago when I cracked the screen. It went in for a repair but came back as a new one, that cost me 400 eur. Battery and watch are new so I’ll stick with this for another year or two.

I’ve been wearing the small 38mm version 3 as a second watch. I’m a watch collector who wears a main mechanical watch too. I don’t want to give up that hobby. It fits most wrists really well, male or female. These larger sizes look redonkulous, like a pager strapped to a wrist. My hope is that smaller sizes come back before my series 3 becomes obsolete. 😢

I just upgraded from a series 4 to a 7 and I really like it. I mostly did it because the battery life on my 4 was starting to show it’s age a little and I use my watch 24/7. :)

I decided to get the 6 for myself through amazon refurbished w a protection plan and im loving this little thing ! Makes it so much easier to answer people while im at work and see my activity for the day. Also the way its presented is way better than on my old samsung watch . Like they made your activities visible but it was never a game, with apples medals and rings i find myself going to work out 4-5 days a week just to complete my rings lol
