Dark board please

Can we just appreciate how apple is always helping us out.

You should add a feature to draw/write straight lines, round circles, arrows, etc. and not really exclusively on the stickers menu. It should be just like in Notes. It seems kind of inconsistent and it’s time consuming

I love this. You guys should Add an option to export the entire board as a IMAGE JPG or PNG

I like "Freeform" a lot but I miss auto-shapes and automatically straight lines, which almost every other drawing program including "Apple Notes" offers. For "Freeform" this feature would be absolutely essential and I can't understand at all why it wasn't implemented right away 🤷🏻‍♂

The Freeform App is awesome ! It is unfortunate that we cannot organize boards in folders or by context.

Why doesn't the mac os version have a pen in the tools? This would help creative people a lot since many of us have pen tablets like wacom's and others that we use with our mac computers.

Do I have to beg for a dark theme board now? Beats me how and why app devs don’t make dark themes a staple feature

I prefer the dynamic pen weight that increases with pressure like in Notes. But I think that would be so much data to load live between multiple devices.

can you please add a folder support to organise all the boards. I think it would be wonderful

I feel like Freeform is good, but it’s only about 80% of the way there. *The tool palettes are a bit clunky compared to Flow and GoodNotes. *Easier access to frequently used color palettes without multiple clicks is essential. *The image paste from ‘copy image’ in safari works great, better than any of the other apps. *The infinite board is great. *Export doesn’t work from the icon one would expect. *The solid white or white bullet journal style background is a little harsh on the eyes. *Alignment is fantastic. *Lasso needs to be able to grab more than just drawn items. *Lasso requiring 100% of the item to be grabbed is spot on. Like I say, 80% there, but a really good first version. I like it, but I want to love it.

Also, you can combine objects by holding two or more at the same time and choosing the combine feature. I discovered that on my own last night after the iOS update.

It is Apple Paint, 40 years later available on iOS.

Users have to manually creation the link trees within the app. It is time-consuming and lacks auto-collapse and expand features. • Absence of automatic conversion of handwritten letters to text, particularly inconvenient when writing with fingers instead of the iPencil. • Annoying placement of the pencil palette, occupying large amounts of space and obscuring pen options. • No option to customize the pen palette according to different task requirements, causing inconvenience.

The moment it was announced at WWDC, I’ve wanted Freeform because it sounds awesome!

Need to add this in recent iCloud Apps (browser based) to collaborate on windows systems , lot of enterprises use Windows .

PLEASE can you add a pen with variable font weights like in the notes app for apple pencil? perfect apart from this

- hyperlinkable editing (cmd+k) - grouping items on iPhone - this app is great for book reading notes

This will be perfect if it has mindmap function and the keyboard shortcuts like MindNode

Can you add a folder function to categorize all my canvases? I like your app for the feature of unlimited canvas size and I use it for notetaking, right now I have too many canvases and need a way to organize them!

I've never wanted to wait for an Apple update so bad until 16.2 when it came with Freeform lol. Now I want to know if it will be available for iCloud since I do use Windows as much as I do Apple. If it does it is goodbye to Microsoft Whiteboard!!

So I cannot draw freeform shapes/objects/anything in the desktop app with an Intuos tablet? Freeform seems like a misnomer.

Sadly it needs a lot of improvements to even compete with competitor apps, at the very least, it needs the ability to convert drawn shapes and lines into actual shapes, converting hand written text in to normal text, changing the background into lines (math lines, normal lines etc,) and an ability to display and share the board online with a link that can be opened on a browser, for now, this is just a simplified notes app, which is already a simplified app, anyway, I’ll stick to notes for simple scribbling and to OneNote for actual work until Apple gives me a better option

It would be awesome to have circle, square, rectangle outlines and not just the shapes that come filled. I have found ways around this but that would be great.

Give love front camera recording simultaneously as pip on the corner of board for recording online class videos

This would’ve been useful during the early pandemic years to replace whiteboard when teaching. I used both Jamboard (rubbish) and Microsoft Whiteboard (was good)

love the ideas and the functions. few here and there feature would make this app super fun. the only complaint I have, memory is so damn expensive, and the iPhone connecting to the window is hella nightmare. I want to love iPhone but its hard, because I'm a window user

It would be great if you could insert a link to another Freeform Board, I.E. just as you can open e.g. a linked presentation, if you could open another board the possibilities are limitless.

Oooooh I was just saying to myself that I didn’t want to buy Scapple to make mindmap stuff for Scrivener. I played around with Freeform and I like it better than using Scapple and I can just drop it into Scrivener as a PDF when I’m done brainstorming!

The official app ive been waiting for. But, is there a way to turn off handwriting correction in Freeform (or in Notes)? I can write perfectly in Goodnotes or in Notability with Apple Pencil but unfortunately Apple apps corrects (idk if this is the right term) my lines and my letters.

Needs expandable buttons. An option to add a shape with text that you can tap on to expand to reveal more information.

Its so nice app but it always take a lot of time while opening boards even in IPAD Pro, while others app works well!!

My eyes can’t take the amount of light there is on FreeForm. Even in dark mode they don’t change the colour of the board. PLEASE ADD THE FEATURE TO CHANGE THE COLOUR OF THE BOARD PLSSS!

I had a serious problem with Freeform. Was excited at the prospect of its capabilities, but unfortunately it stopped syncing, and after several hours on the phone with several members of Apple support, making changing various settings I lost 90% of my data. I was told that Apple's 'Creative Services' department are the ultimate support for Freeform, and whilst one of the guys I worked with appeared very helpful, they have so far been unable to resolve the situation. Needless to say I lost hours of work. It appears to me that the app may have been launched without having the appropriate support people in place?

I probably have 30 boards - I wish I could create folders so I can group them by subject

Also is there that thing on Apple Pencil where if you draw a shape and hold it, it will make a neater version

Why no support for drawing tablets on Mac? Something like what Microsoft OneNote and Whiteboard have, this would make the workflow so much easier for people with a Wacom or something similar.

Limited in scope on Mac, as freehand drawing is tied to using iPad as input. This is a shame as Wacom or other tablets are able to use the Freeform interface tools but the ability to draw with a pen and tablet are omitted. Hopefully a future update will change this but until then, Freeform is not for me.

Wish, it has more export options other than the pdf

Rotating any shape is cumbersome, can be given some easier way like in excel

Hey Apple! I can't seem to draw on my MacBook. I have ios 16.2 and I have the app installed. Any ideas on how to work it?

It’s kinda like MIRO (with much much less capabilities) but free.

I missed the drawing button in the macOS version, I think it's really usable when I'm using a pen tablet.
