Applying DTF (Direct to Film) Transfers with a home Iron or Easy Press

I get asked all the time can a DTF transfer be applied with a iron. The short answer is yes it can. BUT you wont get the professional result that would be achieved with a heat press. Your transfer wont last as long and may not be adhered to the garment as well. I would not recommend selling shirts with transfers applied with an iron but for personal use it works fine. You will still get a great result with vibrant color, no cracking and that slight stretch DTF is known for.

You will need to experiment with yours but temp between 315-330F.

Hi. I know this isn't about the XP-15000 but I was hoping you would see this quicker than one of the older videos. Do you have a video on how to replace the printer cable that connects to the printhead? or how to fix it? Mine is burnt on the end that goes into the print head. I'd rather not buy another printer when I know there's got to be a way to repair or replace that cable. thanks!

Just what I was looking for! Well, almost. I have a 9x9 Cricut easy press 2. Can it be used for HTV, screen print and sublimation the same way you did here in 2 parts? Say, my design is 11x12. I can’t get the entire design under the easy press at one time. Thanks for your help!

Yes it can. Just make sure to tape down the sublimation transfers so they don't move or you will have a ghosting issue.

Only if it is a thin shirt.

There are a lot of factors that effect the outcome. I pressed some kids shirts last year that get worn often and they are still holding up great. Still wouldn't recommend using anything but a actual heat press for shirts you plan on selling.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong I've put it in the powder covered it all and then bake in oven home oven and then heat top and then used my cricut press and my film comes out yellow and none of it is staying like yours ugh

DO NOT CUREIN YOURHOME OVEN! DTF FUMES ARE TOXIC! If it is turning yellow, you are burning it and melting the adhesive beyond use.

@@ssvcustomtransfers oh ok I didn't know I thought you could do it in oven I've done it a few times in oven and other time I just put it under my cricut press and nope doesn't come off I don't know what I'm doing wrong
