Does Cambridge prefer when one does Cambridge A levels at their school compared to say, Pearson?

Nope. No matter what exam board you do, they consider all qualifications the same. Many non-international schools choose IGCSEs and IALs with CIE and Pearson as they typically have lower grade boundaries compared to typical qualifications offered by exam boards such as WJEC and AQA
