Domestic and family violence is a crime that is not subject to postcodes; it affects people from all walks of life, and spans the entire state.
Every day across NSW, our officers work tirelessly to help victims of such crimes and bring perpetrators to justice.
In the past 12 months NSW police have conducted over 22,000 checks on whether apprehended violence orders are being complied with and will continue to do so daily.
Anyone with information about domestic or family violence related incidents is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or nsw.crimestoppers.com.au

Are you fucking kidding me?!?! My (now) ex wife ('may or may not have'...(WINK)) slept with my (now) ex-friend for about six years, and went on to tell my children that they: "might be getting a new daddy" (by the name of Mr "Jason Laverty") (Please note at this point that I have used quotation marks ABSOLUTELY correctly...) ...and, having been previously identified as using BOTH "control by escalation" and 'actual physical violence' (by this I mean that she physically tried to remove my eye from it's socket with her fingernails by claiming to want a 'cuddle' but then attempting to remove my sight...) gained an ADVO over me (in part) for: 'not giving a cuddle when all she wanted was a cuddle'. (The female domestic violence officer in Tumut at the time did not speak to me at all, and yet told my ex-wife that she had been the victim of: "gaslighting".) (I should make a special note at this point point that the Tumut local court had full access to the marriage counselling notes that would ABSOLUTELY have made the fact that this was simply an extension of previous intimate partner violence plain and clear.) She also claimed that I: "Thought people were talking about me behind my back." (Insinuating that I may have been delusional...) Mr Jason Laverty's brother in law 'Spider' actually said: "Is that the one?" To which Mr Jason Laverty replied: "Yes. That's him. Shhh! Shuttup! Here he comes..." I told my ex wife about this experience. My ex wife used this experience as (wholly falsified) 'evidence' against me. Think very carefully before 'doing the "right" thing'....

Just by your comment I’m not surprised you got an order. You are passive aggressive

In case I might be falsely judged as a 'jealous' type, it should also be added that the ADVO was made in 'retaliation' against my having agreed to divorce in order to escape from "control by escalation" which we were both clearly aware could end only in death if continued. (Rolly eyes...)

being told that there aren't enough officers to investigate, being told you need to come in to file a report before matters can be investigated.......

Reading these conments , false allegations always make it harder for the real victims. Lets also remember tnat domestic violence is the number one cause of homicide in Australia. . It's real

My 62 year old disabled mother was told by NSW police that they couldn’t do any investigation because she was told she needed to have the full name, DOB and all details of her attacker with her before they could even investigate getting an AVO... despite pointing out their bedroom and witnesses. That’s a big part of why domestic violence happens. Two large male officers tell an old disabled woman completely wrong information that encourages her to do the legwork for them and endanger herself. the number videos about catastrophic failures or endangerment far outweigh the number of these fluff piece videos

Protect your mum your self then. They're not even telling it is a domestic violence order (ADVO) instead of AVO.

Goverment should implement a program were both parties have to wear a slim style leg bracelet ,wifi sim card enabled with a 5 to 10ks warning system that sends info straight to a centre or police tgat a breach is about to happen even further distance around the victim say any amount of ks can be added .that way police can live track the avo and the victim and the victim is given heads up of avo person is approaching there house or vacinity and has time to plan or hide or escape until police say its vlear
