great to see a young lad getting stuck into the trades with a passion. keep it up and you'll go far. and having a mentor that actually cares is fantastic.

Nice effort bud, I would however invest in a smooth plane or a jack plane for fitting your doors a power plane can only do so much and can not take of fine amounts unlike a hand plane. Also when I cut veneered doors or ply doors with the track saw I initially set the saw about 2 mm deep and draw the saw backwards across the door to create a scoring cut before I then make my main cut which avoids splintering.

I don’t any any jack planes but I will definitely try out the second thing with the track saw, Thankyou

Best invest in one then, you don't have to buy a knew one buy a good second hand one and clean it up that's what I did when I started as an apprentice in 1989. Certainly if not a jack a smooth plane at least.

Very very good job mate awsome job. Something I do which u could try if u want or not when your drilling for the latch put a clamp on the sides of the door as it losers the risk of u coming through the side as it will become a lot harder to drill if your going in at an angle by accident that’s just something I do u may want to try it or may not keep up the good work bro

I really appreciate this as I’m always scared to come out the side, will 100% try this, much appreciated

Did you split the door on the latch edge? You can see a split above the latch towards the end of the video.
