Approach Plates are the essence of instrument flying. They tell you how to get back on the ground safely when the weather isn't good enough for Visual Flight. This video walks you through each part of an approach plate so you'll know how to read it and get back home safely. This example uses a somewhat quirky ILS approach, but the format for other approach plates is the same. You can download approach plates from the FAA here:
