2010 Mana 850 owner here with an after market pipe. Love, love, love this bike. Ride everywhere in all weather around NYC (some snow days) and never had an issue with it. In my many years of ownership (still in use today), only a sensor for the radiator crapped out. That was an expensive fix. Other than that, it blips up and powers up well. The last five years, I had less use on this as I became nomadic and living abroad. Each time I come home I turn it on and it just goes. Low maintenance. What's different in driving this compared to a clutch bike is, it downshifts automatically when rolled off. No coasting. If you want to up/downshift, you can use the shift lever or left hand controls. I miss the clutch lever but don't have to struggle with finding neutral at the stops. Adding an aftermarket pipe was so much fun to hear the roar of the engine and the engine brakes. I don't like loud bikes but mine came preinstalled from the previous owner and I love it. And because you can't 'rev it' by clutching in, the bike never seems 'abnoxious'. Storage for a full face modular helmet in where the gas tank would be is really useful. Once you use it you may think why don't other bikes do this. It's addictive. No backpacks, no bags, ride free. Acceleration on the Mana beats the manual version of this bike (the Shiver) according to tests when it debuted.

Hi William, does the CVT gearbox require much maintenance or oil changes? Looking at a 2008 one with 14000km at the moment. Thanks!

@@Jerryosu83 I forget to mention in my comment that my gearbox crapped out due to a broken bearing inside. Check engine light was on and the dealer advised that the previous owner must had ridden it really hard. Other than that, I had the dealer perform a full fluid change a few years back. No leaks, fires right up each time I visit NYC where I had kept it in storage for the last 5 years.

William, in 2023, should I buy a 2010 Mana GT or a 2023 nc750x dct?..the former is $6,000, the honda is $9500

@@richicago20 the issue I'd taken into consideration is whether you can get parts for it. The Mana has been discontinued for a while now so if anything breaks, you're on your own. If you have an Aprilia dealership nearby or am handy in fixing stuff yourself and can get parts, then I'd say get the Mana. It's a rather low maintenance bike though parts will be pricey (Italian bike vs Japanese). Keep the chain cared for, do the oil changes and you're good IMO. Provided it's not a high mileage bike nor will you put many miles on it. It's a great recreational bike so I'd consider whether you're using this to commute and will put a lot of miles on as an additional point of consideration.

This Mana 850 2009 is much, much better then my NC750 2018!!! Mana looks better, build quality, mana have more power and perfect storage fit for full face helmet!! In my opinion NC750 is a poor copy of this amzing motorcycle, which unfortunately stopped producing :(

The NC is bullet proof unlike the Mana. If you want more power, there's plenty of bikes to choose from. NC wasn't built to compete with sporty motorcycles, it has a different purpose.

@@RevBombUK hi how easy would this bike be to ride with only only one arm, got paralysed left arm bike accident in 1984 hit a herd of cows on my z650, would love to ride again and this bike looks ideal , only thing i would need to do is get the light switch and indicators shifted over to rhs. your thoughts guys. David

@@davidstewart5296 Its a good bike, how bad is the arm can you move it i guess. any DCT bike would be good depending on how bad the arm is have you thought of the nc750 or even a auto quad like a can am
