The Aprilia RS 457 has made its debut in India! This made-in-India Aprilia sportbike will be launched in India soon, but until then here's a quick walk around from Karan Ramgopal. He tells us about its engine, the equipment and the features of this entry-level Italian bike. While we await its price announcement, this will be the most affordable Italian supersport bike in India, when launched.

Do you think the RS 457 will more affordable or more expensive than the Ninja 400?

Affordable than the Ninja 400. I feel bad for the Ninja 400. Such an excellent bike for track and daily use. Sadly the pricing in India is asking way too much for the package while it is affordable than the RC 390 here in the US. Hopefully this gaps the pricing between Rc390 and Ninja400 in India while the Ninja400 hopefully gets a new life and does not suffer the crisis it sibling Ninja 300 suffers with no change yet 😅

I would expect that it's priced higher than the Ninja 400 but being made in India could reduce price to Ninja's bracket

In my childhood (and I'm not even 40 yet) ogling at the Hero imported BMW F650GS, I never once would have imagined Aprilia's and Bmw's being manufactured in India for the world. We've come so far and how!

With so much cost cutting and overpricing in Ninja400 finally a worthy and true competitor for KTM in India. Tired of seeing apaches and RE's being destroyed by the mighty Dukes. Now the competition is heated

This is not really a competitor for the RCs. More of a Ninja 400 competitor, and to a certain extent the R3 when it launches. But this will go squarely against the Ninja.

Price should be around 5L mark. Those who are saying 2L, 3L. It is a twin cylinder, bigger engine more torque and tech than KTM 390 bikes. The latter sells for around 3.4L, how could this be lower?, IMO it should match the price of Ninja 400.

The Ninja 400 is not built here. It's imported and that bumps up the base cost due to our exorbitant import duties. The Aprilia on the other hand is made here. It will be expensive but it should be cheaper than the Ninja, that much can be said with a fair amount of certainty

@@kelanreay7380 but still Ninja is just 400cc. Ninja 400 doesn't have all the bells and whistles Aprilia has. If it's priced lower than the Ninja 400, I would be happy. But that very low margin will affect the brand's future ventures.

@@alexmercer3001Ninja 400 is a high rev machine ....the limiter comes at 13.5 k rpm..this 457 have max rpm up to 13k rpm..so it will goes upto 10.5 k rpm

@@evoIndia thier nk series was a horrendous launch and it ruined their reputation for sure they should've launched the 450ss instead of them hopefully they make a comeback 450ss is very popular in the States as well as other countries, that crossplane parallel twin sounds just like an r7/rs660 hopefully people here realise how good of a bike it is

In terms of price, yes. But the RS457 has some tricks up its sleeve which we shall find out when we can swing a leg over.
