Cambodian apsara is more like slow (not trying to offend), but as I understood Thai Apsara is more like fast. Tbh I that’s really fascinating of how Thai apsara dancers manage to dance both elegant and fast with crown (especially if it weighs more than 3 kg). I’m like: 😮😃 That’s soo hard😮

This is such a thoughtful comment! Thank you for sharing it. Both styles are different and beautiful in their own ways, but you're absolutely right about Thai Apsara playing with speed.

@@yusufshikhaliyev6887 The dances of the ancient Apsara of Angkor Wat had long been lost. What we see today are re-imaginings/re-interpretations. The apsara dance of the Cambodian Royal Ballet was formulated in the 1960s and uses Thai Royal Khon dance as a basis, this is because the Cambodian Royal court had be learning Thai dance for many decades and had completely forgotten how the ancient Apsara of Angkor Wat would have danced. Modern Apsara dances in Thailand were started in the 1950s and are not Royal dances, but take their roots from folk dances of the regions populated by descendants of the ancient Khom of Angkor Wat who took refuge in Thai lands after the Khmer rebelled against them. This is what the French got wrong. The Khmer were not the original builders/rulers of Angkor Wat. The Khom were the ruling class and the Khmer were the slave class. Similar in ways to the Spartans and the Helots of ancient Sparta. The Khmer overthrew their masters. Their first king was Trasak Paem. So the Khmer never actually had an Apsara dance tradition but are trying to claim the Apsara dance of the Khom as theirs. It didn't help matters when the French colonized them and couldn't tell the differences between what was Khom and Khmer and wrongly attributed Angkor Empire to the Khmer.

The dance moves you see are similar to those of India. Arts and culture we will receive from India. In the country of Cambodia, it has been influenced Going from Thailand, More than 100 years ago.
(Thailand's legacy) Thailand ruled Cambodia for nearly 500 years...Vietnam and France also ruled Cambodia...Thailand gave Thai culture as an inheritance and Cambodia used it...Cambodia was a colony of Thailand...in the period. that Thailand rules Cambodia” Thailand creates Thai art and culture in Cambodia. It is considered a legacy that Thailand has created.” 🇹🇭 🇮🇳
The dance comes from a figure in Prasat Phanom Rung... Buriram Province.

@5 Information on Google can be edited. You have to look at various ancient evidence. from surrounding countries. In fact, it is a temple of KHOMs, not Khmers. all temple even Angkor Wat (Pra Nakorn) was Indian culture builts by KHOMs which are ancient Thais from Pimai, Nakorn Rajsrima. The Khmers had been slaves of the KHOMs for hundreds of years and finally betrayed and killed the KHOMs king Varman. After that the KHOMs moved to join others KHOMs (Thais) and established the new empire of Ayudhaya (Pra Nakorn Sri Ayudhaya) in the central of Thailand. That was the beginning of the decline of Angkor Wat (Phra Angkor) because the Khmers were barbaric people with no civilization. The First kings of Khmers is ត្រសក់ផ្អែម Slaves leader who stole the throne from KHOMs KING.
Me too! I Havent found another that is as beautiful as this one

The music is beautiful. It does have a Khmer flare with the headdress and the Kantrum music style but the choreography is definitely new and there is a fresh vibe to it. Very elegant and beautiful! Thank you! 🙏❤

India :) 🇮🇳❤ Apsaras originated from Hindu scriptures. You can see many similarities between Hinduism and Buddhism, as Buddhism came from Hinduism. As people migrate, and cultures and religions adapt, Apsara mythology and dances evolve. This particular dance was choreographed by a Thai Performing Arts School which I linked in my bio.

@@LMAO4real Funny thing is the nation that said they came from Khmer Empire but they have no ability to rebuilt and restore ancient ruin. Had to ask Thailand and India help. Also after the fall of Angkor Wat which was the stone architecture. Why could not rebuilt it, not even the small scale. Only the bamboo built until French help built the Royal palace. Why the civilization keep going down hill so fast?
