Sir, how i know when i use base(10) or base(e) formula for finding bod at time t. Actually, some of book solved by taken base10 but if i solved in base e then i got wrong answer. So how i recognised when i take base e or 10. (Similar things happen in 2017 set1 Gate paper questions regarding to this topic i use base e but solution in base 10)

If u understand the math behind the formula derivation. U can convert base 10 to base e, or vice versa by simply plug in into their respective ratio of constant k/K. The ratio was actually kt = KT ln |10| . Which is k/K = ln |10| , or u can write k = K ln |10| to find k, while K = k/ln |10| for K.

The ratio actually comes from e^-kt = 10^-Kt . Also can be written as e^kt = 10^Kt. Then base both side with ln. ln |e^kt| = ln |10^Kt| exponent with base ln is simply the value of the power and will get kt = ln |10^Kt| = Kt ln |10| Then divide both side by t will get k = K ln |10|

If , in a sample water DO concentration 5.4 ppm, then calculate and comment on the BOD concentration of same sample water after 48 hours. Kindly answer this...
