When I first saw Aptera and immediately invested I thought I understood what Aptera promised. Since that time as I followed the development through the Aptera Community board, Aptera Owners Club and all the other sources of information available. At each iteration I’ve learned and now appreciate just how big a project Aptera is. In no way shape or form is Aptera like anything else that going to be on the road. The next vehicle design that exceeds Aptera will have to be the true Jetson’s flying car - I suspect that will be a while. As we follow the road to the first production vehicle we have to congratulate the Aptera team on all the improvements they’ve made in the time since the new Aptera was born and continue to develop and fine tune to deliver to us what is likely the vehicle of the century. With each passing day we are closer!

Me too, tearing up. It’s longer and harder than I ever thought it would be, but they’re getting there.

The most important detail for me was the machine that measures accuracy and tolerances in the carbon parts. For some reason that told me that they’re going to make it.

They have to make it to production, ramp to IDK, maybe 1,000 a month, not have any huge issues with the vehicle, and then they should be fine. The vehicle is so unique and interesting, I don't think they will have trouble selling it in Ferrari numbers.

@@helix9268 I looked into Elio back in the day. I found out that the motor they said they were going to build for it didn't exist, and I was out. In addition, deposits on an Elio reservation were never refundable. Aptera deposits are held in escrow and are returned on request. Any serious due diligence can establish that they are not the same in any way. Both founders of Aptera Corp. have also established other successful companies. Chris Anthony took his last company public as co-founder and CEO and it has made me good money, and all the analysts following it rate it a strong buy. Do a little research.

This has included traveling to the factory and speaking with engineers regarding areas of the design where I have expertise. Well, sounds like the marketing team did their job then. They wanna make you think it’s gonna happen 😂

It isn't happening yet, they have sourced 60% of equip for body parts. If there is just 1% missing then no production will happen and getting the last stuff is progressively more difficult. They are not out out of the woods yet and huge delays up to a complete failure is still very possible. Even if they produce some vehicles, ramping up can be a nightmare. See Tesla how they though to be fast and how close they were to going bankrupt multiple times in the last 20 years. I am invested too and have hope in Aptera, but let's be realistic.

@@1Hippo very good as an experiment, anyway. BUT - the video is awful. The voice, the presentation, the disturbing music, video quality... Frankly, most top KZfaq bloggers do much better. That's the simplest way to look professional - the presentation quality, when somebody is beyond lab and garage assembly phase.

i REALLY hope they manage to get this thing into production, but speaking as someone who has been responsible for making for a lot of marketing BS just like this, i can spot it a mile away, 60% done does not mean what you think it does

In the EU the Aptera is a car by law and will have 20x more regulations to follow In the EU it will become much more expensive and difficult, and you will see nothing before 2030

Anyways, it's obvious that they will first assemble product experience before going to other markets. Well that's what I would do 🤔 Still, It doesn't hurt to create simple foundations for the road ahead and have a well prepared plan for when you are ready to go ahead 😉

@@shrimptopian3392 No, you are confusing different companies and vehicles with a similar name. Aptera, Inc. was founded as Accelerated Composites in 2006 There was not even an Aptera company in 2005. Steve Fambro and Chris Anthony co-founded the company in 2006 as a partnership with Idealab. Idealab brought in a manager from Detroit to become CEO when they were preparing to start production in 2009, but he apparently never wanted to build the vehicle he was hired for. He staged a surprise board coup in 2009 and ousted the founders. He was unable to raise funds for his alternative 4 wheel vehicle plans and liquidated the company in 2011. It was not a court bankruptcy, and all vendors and customer deposits were repaid. . Both Chris and Steve founded and ran successful companies when they left Chris co-founded a lithium battery company and took it public as CEO. It is still doing well. In 2019, the widow of the man who had purchased the original IP from liquidation offered Chris a chance to re-acquire them. He was able purchase them and start a completely new company with a different corporate structure, that Steve and Chris are unlikely to lose control of to a third party. They learned their lesson. The product they are building is also brand new, and doesn't have a single part or even drive train concept in common with the original vehicle. Anyone who has been associated with automotive startups can see that they are doing an extraordinary job in every respect. Finally Aptera Corp never foresaw a delivery date in 2019. Pre-orders weren't even opened until December of 2020. Then Covid disrupted the entire supply chain, and the engineering teams couldn't get parts samples for months. The preorder count exploded to 10 times what was expected, and another delay happened to be able to responsibly meet the demonstrated demand. The new production design and plan has also resulted in a much higher quality vehicle than was originally foreseen. It will be well worth the wait for new product. I know this because I have worked with many new EV startup companies, both successful and failed as a supplier and have been following this story in person for a long time.

​@@shrimptopian3392Thanks for the info. I'm certain that they are not doing this on purpose. One thing is certain, building a new product is certainly not like driving on a new predictable road. It's full of unexpected turns and sometimes you get to an 180. Still, determination and perseverance with the right partners - financial support can contribute the right movement towards a well deserved end goal. And I sense that this is happening now. Crossing my fingers that the 180 doesn't appear out of nowhere 😉
