Thank you so much Mr. Bruff, I am a foreign student who migrated from Hong Kong and now working on my GCSEs, still struggles and stuck on 4s and 5s in English Language but hope to improve by watching these videos and practicing.

See I find it easy picking out evidence and finding comparisons but putting it into format is what gets me

Hi sir. This is regarding paper 2 question 5. Are you allowed to use abbreviations in your writing such as “i.e” or “etc”?

I think it depends on what the question form is if it's a blog it's probably fine but if it's a speech or letter you should probably use the full/more formal versions

@@TessElisabethRowe just double checked, you do need 2 as I remembered the structure my school taught, (SQIQI x2) statement, quotation from A, Inference, quotation from B, inference. And we have to do that twice.

The June 2019 exam report said 'Encouraging students to write in detail is an approach well worth adopting, as it can often be the means of moving up a level. For example, a student working at level 2 might typically attempt to make one inference, and then move on to make a separate point. However, by focusing and commenting further on the same point, the student is more likely to provide the explanation they need to meet the criteria for ‘clear’ at level 3. By the same token, a student working at level 3, by engaging in more detail with the same point and looking to extend and develop their comment with further inferences, is in a better position to move into level 4. Coaching students in the patience required to add depth and detail to their responses can only be a positive way forward for all abilities.'

im so confused with this bc it says summarise it but ive always been taught to do the similarities and differences but this says to summaries and it does on my paper aswell so im completley baffled with how to write it

The question might ask you to 1) summarise differences 2) summarise similarities 3) summarise what you learn about a certain topic.
