The most underrated song of Aqua. This is simply superb.

I don't get how they don't record more diverse song like this one. This is a true pop masterpiece

So... Lene represents grief, Rene symbolizes science and Claus & Søren personify religion. Lene is completely dressed in black with heavy black makeup around the eyes to paint the picture of the bereaved. Klaus and Søren both display cross necklaces. The participants' placement at the table is also symbolic: Lene and Rene sit at opposite ends, far from each other, signifying the great distance in viewpoint. While Lene sings with deep emotion of the mother-daughter love, Rene sings mechanically of neutrons and vibrations and the quantum-mechanical idea of a multiverse. Neither seem to be able to take in the other's perspective; Rene's perplexion becomes quizzical when Lene delivers her hot rant, and Rene's words only seem to generate defiance and disinterest in Lene. The placement of religion in between is perhaps the most interesting part, although far more low-key. Religion sits closer (half-way) to Lene than science, yet it remains quiet. There is no comfort to be had at this table, neither from religion nor from science. The whole scene is a deadlock. And speaking of death, there are many symbols of decay and mortality throughout the video: the autumn leaves, the pendulum clock, the rutten meat, the sour milk, the cochroach, the crumbled egg..

I like how Rene's voice fits in perfectly with Lene's angel-like voice,straight away after Lene finishes speaking. It fits in perfectly with the tune,he sounds just like a Robot.

I heard this song for the first time earlier this year and instantly loved it. When my own mother got very ill, I couldn't stand listening to this. She passed couple weeks ago, and now this song makes me feel very complicated things..

This is for sure a piece of art. Everything about this video is so good. All the moviment even with them kinda stood still. Clean, well executed and refined. For sure this song and this video didn't quite receive all the commotion it surely deserves.

I remember crying when this song came out and was relatively new. Still manages to evoke a tear from me when I think of my mom to this song.. :')

Notice how when Lena sings: "getting used to love someone" she looks at Renee and when the song says: "knowing you're going to lose it all" she turns to look at Sören. The feelings it evokes, despite being an upbeat song are of gloom and despair. And yes, the song refers to the passing of the singer's mother but somehow these guys managed to make it feel like it was about the love triangle they had experienced before. The dire/awkward expression on their faces; priceless. I felt bad for Claus being caught in the middle. You can see their career decaying from there on.

This is an amazing song with very powerful lyrics. Probably one of the most meaningful and sad songs ever made. Damn... never thought an Aqua song would bring tears to my eyes. Wow, Aqua's music matured brilliantly - They had a fantastic pop history, and this darker split from what they did back then really gives something new for everyone. From "I'm a Barby Girl" to this, they certainly showed that their music isn't just plastic whimsical fun, it can have serious undertones with deep lyrics too. If I were given a choice between their original pop and their new darker vibe, I would decline to choose from between the two and point out that it shows how a band evolves.

Al parecer, proyecta las perspectivas que puedan tenerse respecto a la pérdida vital de un ser querido, que puede ser entre los familiares que se quedan, o bien, en la discusión que uno puede tener con sí mismo para darle sentido a la muerte. Por un lado, esa visión desde el sentimiento y la memoria, donde no se quiere dejar partir a la persona que se ama, en este caso, a la madre ya fallecida, priorizando lo que la figura ausente significaba para ella. Por otro lado, la visión racional, que, prácticamente burlándose del sentimentalismo, utiliza conceptos científicos para dar solución a la pérdida minimizando la emocionalidad ante el luto.
