I only knew them for Barbie Girl, and Doctor Jones, way back in the 1990s, and never would have considered that Aqua actually made more serious songs void of humour. And a good song this is too!

In the 90's Aqua were absolutely the kings of cheesy yet unforgettable pop songs that have all become classics. This was proof that they were much, much more than that. And listening to it in the second half of 2021, not only is this song still timeless and still one of my favourite songs ever from one of my favourite movies ever, it sparks a yearning in me to turn back time to the 90's when the world was a far better place.

I'm 38 too😀 best time to grow up 80s and 90s..... I'm a bit worry for kids today have to grow up with the pressure of social media - you must be extra tough. Or you'd be sucked into nothingness and lose focus of what's playfulness and what is 'real deal'. Most are growing up so fast!

It's sad, that Aqua didn't live up to their true potential. This song is an absolute evergreen. Beautiful voice of Lene and exquisite music of "Turn back time" prove, that it was a terrible choice of Aqua to make "cartoonesque", silly and not ambitious music. If they chose high quality pop instead of cheap disco, they would probably still be popular.

I was 10 when this came out. Still is my favorite song. This was the peak of Aqua's fame. Imagine having to wait for MTV to show this music video. the agony of waiting.

They had another pretty good single with the same trip-hop ballad style called “Good Morning Sunshine”. It was moderate hit in Europe, but song is so good!

i was only 10 when this song came out. i’m 36 today and i still love her music, especially this song being one of my ultimate favourites. how i wish i can go back to the 90s time period since that was the best years of my life!! 😭💜 if only i can turn back time (literally)

Aqua were an awesome band back in the day, this tune and was number one back in June 1998. I saw them perform this song on TOTP with my school pals must of been 14 years old at the time. 90's were a great time to be teenager days before social media, you can be free and do stuff that no one would not known.

Wow I got married in June of 1998 while stationed at Hill AFB, UT I was 25 at the time. I miss the 90's too wish I could go back. I'd be almost out of HS having graduated in 1992.

Wonderful memories! ;-( I am 38 now and I miss the 90s so much. In my loneliness the music of the 90s give me hope and sometimes I wish that everything would be like in those days. Денис Шевчук I think he means that the music of the 90s stylistically stayed in the 90s. Few musicians and bands create new 90s music today, and even then, it's sped up to this decade's pace.

One of their best songs and yet truly underrated. I remember I was shocked when they released this as single back in 1997 because they were known for cheesy bubblegum catchy songs and all of a sudden they came out with a meaningful amazing ballad. I love all their songs anyway.

Same thing with Metallica - it's hard to believe that a group that became mostly known for "Nothing Else Matters" in the 90s was actually the same group that wrote songs like "Fight Fire With Fire" and "Battery". Those songs are pure madness and aggressive guitar solos to the MAX.

Those wonderful years... a great time where I was happy. I want to "turn back time" and start over... knowing what to do and without mistakes. I am 40 and back then I was 15. This was my adolescence.

I agree. I was 14 then and 90s was absolutely a wonderful era. I miss those years and I miss all the wonderful people that are now gone. If we could just "turn back the time" and if only we could.
