I hope you kept the sickle bar part and tooth, they might not be so old but they are fast becoming a piece of history. We had those on both a plain bar for grass cutting on an old tractor, and on our swather for doing the alfalfa fields. Of course our old wheat combine had the very same teeth. Dad and I knocked out the rivets on many a broken tooth to replace them on those bars and boy was it hot hard work. We had stacks of replacement teeth in the shop and a pile of old broken ones in a fifty gallon drum, which we threw all of our old scrap into, then hauled it off when it was full to the scrap yard for pin money. This hunt really brought back childhood memories. Even the cow pasture full of patties...so watch where you walk! LOL You didn't get skunked, even if you had to work so hard for it. That Civil War era stirrup was a good history lesson, even if it wasn't in one piece. I can imagine the rider being broadsided by an exploding shell which took his foot and broke his stirrup to pieces. The horse of course probably didn't survive, but maybe the man who lost his foot and stirrup did?! Of course it could have just been a case where the leather to the stirrup broke and a heavy wagon ran over it a few times. Time and farm equipment could have displaced the pieces. At any rate it makes for interesting speculation and possible story line. If you had found more tack I might have thought the whole horse and rider were lost. Too bad about your camera, if you take it to a good camera repair shop they should be able to clean it up for you. The only thing worse than dirt in a camera is salt, sand, or water. Four years in Hawaii taught me how bad that place can be on camera's, so I really can sympathize. Have a great day Chigg and better hunting next time.

Yeah, the roller fits in the track mounted on a barn for sliding barn doors. The hole in the center is threaded for a rod to help adjust the door height to the track. I bought a new set about 10 years ago for our front barn sliding doors.

The curly hook thing at 3:43 is part of an old harrow that was drug through the field to break up clods of dirt. A chain attached to the harrow was attached to that hook which was part of a pipe or beam. 2 of those hooks to every section for the harrow.

That hammer that you showed is a special hammer for barrel rings. You put that tiny part on the edge of the ring and then hit the flat part with another hammer. By hitting it, you go around the barrel for equal tightness on wood and to prevent leakage.

The thing you showed at 3:31 looks to be half of what was used on horses and cows to control them. It would have had leather to hold it as a unit and fit the animals head. The little ball at the end, (there would be two naturally) fit into the nostrils of the animal and when a rope attached was pulled to lead it would pinch together and prompt the horse or cow to follow you. The roller thing is what barn doors rolled on, on a track.

Oh boy..... a new Chigg video. So glad I cut the cable and get to see such great stuff. Love your channel. BTW..... the little wheel thing I think is actually the wheels to a sliding barn door that work on the same principal you described. I have also seen them on old sliding stall doors. That would have been fairly high end for back in the day though. Hay trolleys are usually much heavier and larger. Note I said "I think"... you may be correct.

I see a lot of people saying that that hammer is a splitting maul. But that didnt seem right to me. Not only is it too small, but the narrow striking edge is far too blunt to be of much use for splitting wood. Its actually a simple, and quite old, straight-peen hammer. Also known as a fuller hammer. A blacksmiths tool.
