The ASAP filter has been designed to simplify its operation as much as possible. It has a transparent container for filter media, which allows easy monitoring of the cartridge contamination level, without the need to disassemble the device.

Both the installation and operation of the filter are very easy and certainly can handle them, even a novice aquarist. We mount the device to the aquarium glass using four strong suction cups. To clean the sponge, it is enough to disconnect the cartridge container, remove the sponge and rinse it in the water poured from the aquarium. Therefore, there is no need to remove the entire filter from the tank, which significantly reduces the service time and is a convenience for the user. The ASAP filter also allows you to change the direction of the water jet very easily (within 90°). All you have to do is turn the filter container in any direction.
The filter also allows effective oxygenation of the water in the aquarium. To do this, place the outlet nozzle above or at the height of the water level.

Very true! and thanks for the comment i actually designed a filter similar shape to this but had large slits down the sides and could skim the water lol

great slo mo action showing the possible by pass Guy! Seems pretty cool though and most filters have some bypass for sure and for the price it's pretty cool.

I appreciate the videos my friend and I do love the materials Aqua El creates , has a great feeling that they are not cutting corners like some of the rest, and personally I think they have the size of the sponge perfect to include a filter pad that you can cut to cover the sponge and then polish the water with it or if you're starting up a new aquarium buy a phosphate pad etc. That's the best way to look at it !

I agree 100% would say maybe 2 of the smaller ones that way you could run one full of media and the other floss but great comment ty

For £20/£25 it looks good value, I would sling the foam and fill it with a bio media. Lots of options and I'd suggest removing the whole filter before dismantling to avoid mess. I like the fact it can be used in shallow water. Great video, thanks for sharing.

Liking the new and approved camera and angles. I skipped these aquael filters as they aren't fry or shrimp safe but i like the look and people like and are happy with them from amazon reviews i recall. Without this being an issue i would replace with an oversized sponge to fill the whole canister utilising the whole length of the sponge but removing and replacing a larger sponge through that small entrance is going to be annoying everytime, if someone prefers bio media this would be perfect and more practical than sponge from what i can see, just not for me. Always on the lookout for replacement backup sponge filters and something new but i still haven't found anything better than the superfish aqua flow filters i already use in all my tanks other than the Hydor/Ferplast Blumodular you reviewed thats definitely worth a try. Nice one mate you have once again put to rest another, should i, shouldn't i, buy it dilemma.

Thanks for the comment i do love the eheim pickup range although the sponge is small you can make a power sponge filter with a plastic bottle and power head hmmm maybe a video idea

@AQUAGUYUK Yeh i really like the Eheim pickup's too you're buying a quality item and worth the extra money on these rare occasions. Definitely do a video on that bottle filter got to see this filter, get in the shed haha.

@AQUAGUYUK Personally im really fond of Superfish Aqua Flow filters easy to modify with your desired filtration i have the 50, 200, 300 and 400 i swapped the 400 for the 300 because it was rattling the fluval lids driving me crazy but they all perform brilliantly and easy to clean. I avoided the XL because its a pain to keep taking the whole thing out to get the back off to clean but for the money and all ive seen there's very little for myself to beat their filters especially when you have shrimp in all tanks it really narrows sown the options, ive had zero issues with any of these filters too better touch wood, im always jinxing myself.

@@FishFace2216 know your pain well my ultimate internal has to be the fluval U series i tested these many times and they really out perform anything for mechanical and biological although really expensive think the U4 is around 70 UK pounds

So many of these internal power filters are just glorified sponge filters

quite agree but they do have their place with an air drive sponge they really only do biological clean but powered they can both mechanically and biologically clean the tank

@@AQUAGUYUK Yeah I've hooked up an Aquael powerhead to a double sponge filter with 2 biomedia chambers. Sponge is 25 ppi and I'm filling the chambers with cut up pot scrubbers.

its ok as a powered sponge filter but wouldnt put it on any tank over 100 ltr but to move water its low wattage and pumping volume is ok for the price
