The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

Just got an Elite FS couple days ago and with the new firmware and some of the settings were removed, put else where or new ones added. One of the new ones is "structure resolution" for down and side scan but i don't see any change no matter to what i set it.

If i have my sonar on high chirp on my FA9 the down scan and side scan will not work. why? Am i not setting something up properly?

Question for you - how do you have your unit set up to adjust settings off your boat? I have a new elite 9 that I’d like to get dialed in but I don’t want to sit at the dock for hours tweaking things. Doing this in my basement would be awesome and save me time on my next outing. I have a Lowrance Elite FS 9" - I have a problem? I have a hard time seeing the sonar screen while sunny and wareing sunglasses. Any tips? I have to bend down put my face right up to screen while shading area as best I can with my hand. Its like running blind when your driving boat do to not being able to see screen. It's the glare.

Do Side scan and downscan work with High Chirp selected In sonar? My "sonar stopped" with medium chirp selected in sonar.

I know this is a year old but do you have to reset this unit for saltwater and freshwater every time I just purchase this unit the Elite Fs 9 thanks

Doesn’t it automatically pick up what type of transducer? When I installed mine I couldn’t select a transducer it went automatically to 3 and 1 and grey out other selections is this correct or am I doing something wrong

When in split screen and using Chart, we cant get the cursor to stay in the center of the screen. We have to keep clicking on GoTo Cursor. Any ideas how to fix?
