My grandma put walmart koi in her backyard pond almost identical to this pond cory has and her fish were every bit of 24-30 inches 8 years later!!!! The natural pond is key to getting HUGE koi !!! This is so cool btw!!!

I love your pond! It's so great. I had a koi pond in Michigan and all my fish over-wintered just fine. Didn't lose anyone and the pond was at least one-eighth the size of this one. We made sure there was moving water (2 pumps). It really froze over like crazy! Your redwing black birds sound so nice.

Those are some happy Koi that pond is heaven with that fresh constant water flow and plants, great looking habitat. 👍🌿🐟 I remember when he got some of them and they have grown a lot.

That is definite bucket list material right there. It is cool that you guys share that with us. I never had a desire for koi, but I am warming up to the idea.

I have no knowledge of Koi so I searched how long they live; "Koi can live in excess of 100 years, but typically, if well cared for, live 20-30 years. The fish will continue to grow throughout the span of their life." 100 years!! WOW

Some nice fish going into there especially the Kohaku and Sanke - I hope there are no herons or other predators to damage them as the pond deserves happy, and safe fish. 'Proper' koi people would probably recoil in horror at the introduction method but it seemed all good to me as the fish weren't bothered - I wish you the best of luck with the pond.

I have 2 sanke koi in a 300 gallon. Ready to get my pond build this summer.

I live in northern Mich and have about a 2000 gallon pond which has a bunch of gold fish and a few Koi in it, I have over wintered them for four years now using a pond deicer and and four little bubblers to keep an opening in the ice, winters are very long here and I'm always excited to see my fish come to the surface to enjoy the warmth of the sun in the spring.
