I love these kinds of videos. You do a good job of explaining little things that other people may not bother with. Like yes, they're aerial roots. Why are they there, what can we do with them? How do we optimize growing more instead of juat halving the plants and calling it good? These are things I want to know. I love gardening and I enjoy growing aquatic plants equally. I like that I can relax and absorb all of the informations from your videos on the internets and likely get some good humor in there, too! Also, your tanks and plants are just beautimus to look at! 💖

You trim plants at a rate I could only dream of. It's actually therapeutic to watch 😆 lol also, the late night videos are awesome. I'm a night owl with chronic insomnia, so later vids like this inspire me especially on nights when my brain just won't let me sleep.

Join us tonight on Dad's late night groovin' as Joel sways to the sweet dulcet tones of red ludwigia and enlightens us all on how to propagate it. My wife (of the thousands of succulents in the ground and in pots) watched your explanation of new roots, trimming locations and new growth and nodded her head and said you were correct and that anybody who does plants knows that. I nodded and said I was just giving you views. She's gone - I learned a lot watching this video! I especially liked how you dropped the plant into the substrate and then moved horizontally with it before letting go. My limited experience with rooted plants always ends up with floating plants. You make the best plant videos!

Great video! I’ve heard you talking about floating plants horizontally on a podcast but the video really helps clarify not only the how, but more importantly the why! I always wondered what to do with the portion of the stem with aerial roots and how to determine the tops. I really like these informational, practical, how-to videos!!

Corvus this is great and full of information, that said can this apply to pogostemon erectus at all? (I have tall pogostemon but I am seeing side/watercolumn grown above the soil, I like my pogostemon tall but the roots make it look messy at times) apologies if you've answered this in the pogostemon video and I've missed it

I've been experimenting with slightly weighting 3 stem bundled of plants like this (stem plants) floating in my sump with the other side root sprouting clippings. The weights only hold the plant oriented upright but still getting the light and even slight emersion/so possibly Im assuming that some atmospheric nitrogen/CO2/Oxygen reaches the plants. I was curious if you have played with floating trimmings but keeping them upright and or even partially out of the water (less than half if it's floating on it's side). So yes, long winded, and I appologize, but do you have experience playing with this and or any input about similar methods, dos & donts? Thanks for the video, I love the late night files by the way, sir!

Corvus Oscen I think it’s different types of ludwigia. When I bought them at the pet store, they didn’t know what the plants were. But I bought them cause I loved the colors and some of the leaves on the plants grows to make it and were like sort of a rose shape.

I have a moderately planted tank and I am having an issue with my fish pulling up the plants and now they have started eating them. I want to find out which fish is the one/ones doing this so I can put them in another tank. I have clown and Yoyo loaches, odessa, black ruby, and red panda barbs, assorted rainbows, red eye tetras, EBJD, gold nugget and clown pleco, and 6 cory cats. I have a lot of money tied up in plants and trying to get them growing have a high tech system so I need help so they will grow.
