I set up this Aquascaper 900 planted tank nature aquarium aquascape for Chris, a customer of Aquarium Gardens and new hobbyist fishkeeper and aquascaper. The aquascape was inspired by Filipe Oliveira who create a similar planted aquarium layout at Aquarium Gardens aquascape workshop.
I hope you like it!
What fish would you add?
Let me know in the comments!
Keep on scaping!

Hi, George. Very good indeed! An aquascape is a work of art, but never with a patent... It's nice to get inspiration in other scapes to make our own (GreenAqua have a TakashiAmano - inspired scape; now Chris has a Filipe Oliveira - inspired scape). It's good to be the scource of inspiration, probably the best acknowledgement of an artists' worth. You are an inspiration to many more than you imagine (even kids in schools!!) - congratulations! Keep on scaping, really! Don't stop! You are so passionate about your work, you do what you like best (only for the few...) and that shows!! Thx from sunshiny Portugal!!

Such a nice layout. The branches give it a real interesting look. Ooh, my favorite question! Corydoras to give some activity in the open sand at the front, certainly a schooling fish like Harlequin Rasboras or (my favourite) Rummynose tetras, and perhaps the classic Angelfish as a centrepiece? A school of rainbows would look good too, though, and maybe some cherry shrimp to accent those long branches of manzanita...

First! Easy peasy lemon squeezy :D Yesteryday I went to my local home goods store to look for a red colander, and sadly I couldn't find one I guess yours is one of a kind #RedColander😂 ps. For fish I would go with a simple group of like 30 rummy nose tetras since in a longer tank I love how they school back and forth. Plus when this scape will be grown in, fish that have too much color will make for too much "noise" in my opinion

"BEFORE IT BEGINS" - You better hoover up; ... clean up after yourself boys... 😂😂😂 This reminds me of a Portuguese joke which I will now freely adapt for Aquascapers around the world: Aquascaper John-do arrives home after a hard day's work; Helps the wife take care of the kids, home chores, family dinner, washing dishes, takes out the garbage and then goes.... Husband.: dear, now i'll do some maintenance to the Tank, you know, partial water change, trimming, tidying up... before it begins Wife.: Ok A few days after, same scenario... Husb.: dear, now i'll do some maintenance to the Tank, you know, partial water change, trimming, tidying up... before it begins Wife.: again? Ok When the weekend arrives... Husb.: dear, now i'll do some maintenance to the Tank, you know, partial water change, trimming, tidying up... before it begins Wife.: really? Ok A few more days go by, a few more weeks, regular maintenance keeps on schedule... Husb.: dear, now i'll do some maintenance to the Tank, you know, partial water change, trimming, tidying up... before it begins Wife ( in hanger ).: - WTF? "before it begins"? "before it begins"? WTF do you mean...? I wish you took care of me as well as you take care of your fish; I wish you took me out as much as take out the water of your tank, I wish you bought me flowers as much as you buy Prime or fish food, I wish you still looked at me with those marvelled eyes as much as you look at your tiny shrimps... "before it begins"? "before it begins"? WTF do you mean...? Husband (with a sigh ): IT HAS BEGUN > LR - Portugal Dedicated to all those BRAVE aquascapers that took on the perilous road of juggling Life, Wife and regular water changes under the same roof 😂😂😂 May the FORCE be with us all... we'll need it, before it begins Keep on Scaping strong, fearless Padwans!

George - a quick question about the filter - where do you usually put the intake and outtake pipes? It seems most of the time you have both on one side and the CO2 on the opposite - is that correct?
@GeorgeFarmerStudios
@GeorgeFarmerStudios 5 жыл бұрын
Hi, I usually have them together as this tends to promote best all round circulation. With CO2 at opposite end so flow picks up and distributes bubbles all over. 👍

Growing plants in s tank without fish. Can I have too much Co2 or is there no limit. I understand there's a point of excess (too much for plants to use) but too much won't inhibit growth right? Hi Mark, My guess is that they’re not used so much because they can cause havoc with plants (species dependent). Also in my view I prefer smaller fish so they don’t overly compete with the planting in terms of aesthetic balance. I hope that makes sense.
