The Flamingo plant is otherwise known as an Anthurium.
The anthurium is a very easy-care plant. Its requirements are quite simple, and the plant will thrive in most indoor environments, if you follow these simple steps.
Anthuriums thrive best in natural, indirect sunlight. They like plenty of light and will produce more flowers the more light they are exposed to, but they do not fare well in direct sunlight, as this can burn the leaves. So the ideal location for them is dappled shade, out of direct sunlight.
Because of the colour and heart-shape of the spathes, Flamingo plants make ideal gifts for Valentine's day.
Flamingo plants traditionally used to represent hospitality, happiness and abundance.
Flamingo flowers are poisonous if ingested, and have been known to irritate the skin, so please handle with care, and keep out of the reach of children and pets.
