Yeah, drummer Tamu Murata is legit one of the best anywhere. Serious fusion chops alongside a fantastic feel for metal. She has a great symbiosis with bassist Haraguchi-san, too...together they've been nicknamed the "Laughing Thunder."

Nemophila - "baby blue eyes" flower, "Rurikarakusa" in Japanese; grows in N-America and is appreciated in Japan (see "Hitachi Seaside Park"). The band was formed in 2019, originally as a "session" brought together by... Mayu - the vocalist (ex- Lipstick band); Haraguchi-san - bass, backing vocals, was Mayu's friend and colleague from Music College (ex - Holderlins band); Tamu Murata - drums, backing vocals, one the most respected session musician in Japan (countless bands), with also her own original carrier; she's also the wife of Akira Yamaoka, musician/composer, known especially for his videogames OSTs, in particular for "Silent Hill"; Saki (ex - "Mary's Blood" band for a decade, and others), she's a "young sacred monster" in J-metal) guitar, backing vocals, and... Don’t watch too many reactions but the this came up recommended, so I said why not, out of all the bands coming out of Japan these ladies are by far the most diverse, they literally are chameleons of music. But when they get heavy they go f#####g heavy. Their drummer Tamu is one the best anywhere Haraguchi on Bass is wicked. Saki and Hazuki are a total contrast in styles on guitar but work so well together. And then there is the Firecracker, no wait stick of Dynamite on vocals, Mayu! I’m sure you will get plenty of recommendations for songs of theirs, and honestly you can’t go wrong with anything they have done. Adabana and Zen are my personal favorites, but like so many people when I seen their video for Dissension I was an instant fan!

That drummer is none other than Murata Tamu aka "the smiling thunder". Her double-pedal work is other-worldly. I genuinely want to know what her 100m and 200m sprint times are, because she has got very fast feet and incredible stamina. Murata Tamu is yet another one of those beasts on the drums from Japan, who does it while smiling and looking "kawai". Just an incredible talent, who is also married with two children.

They are basically an accidental supergroup founded as a backing band for the singer for 1 event, but they decided it was too good for a one off band. They have diverse musical origins (though a lot of metal) so they can and will play anything (to the point where they are known for their covers). They are generally heavier than Lovebites but can easily go softer than Band Maid. They are kind of related to Lovebites (both bands have an ex-Destrose member), they have been seen together, and there are a few friendships there; as such a tour/show of Lovebites/Nemophila is possible which their fans would love (their fan bases overlap).

Nemophila's motto is, "Live fluffy, play hard as hell." This isn't even their hardest song (not the softest either).

Trust me, musically this is still one of their more relaxing songs. 🤭 Mayu on the mic is a beast, but she can also mesmerize you with her voice in the next moment. The guitar duo of Hazuki and Saki is one of the best I know right now, and Haraguchi-san on bass together with Tamu on drums is nothing less than a force (Tamu is also one of the most respected and sought-after drummers in Japan). One of my favorite bands from Japan, and this wasn't even their heaviest. Try "Enten" or "Zen" "Adabana" is also a great one that goes pretty hard.

If you are interested in more Japanese metal check out "HANABIE. - We Love Sweets" If you haven't heard them they will surprise you. They are heavier then Nemophila and a lot of fun!. You will not be disappointed. They are probably the heaviest out of the current female fronted metal bands coming out of Japan. Highly recommended.

The twin leads Saki abd Hazuki are off the chain and Haraguch san on bass is a thunder box.. Mayu is just from another planet vocally as you will find out the more you watch and listen.. This band has great songs and I hope the next one you do is RISE. They are also renowned for their covers. Check out the four covers they have done recently they are bringing out an EP with one new song. The drummer has 2 children and the song LIFE is the rest of the band welcoming her back from maternity leave. The singer also has a child. These are the only women in the world who look more adorable than their own children. This is a very pretty band I'm sure you will agree. CHANGE THE WORLD is not a heavy song but it's a great song that I'm sure you will enjoy. For something completely insane Check out the band DOGMA. Try FORBIDDEN ZONE or FATHER I HAVE SINNED. I'm a Catholic it probably appeals to me more than you but just have a look.

After leaving rock band Lipstick, vocalist Mayu was looking to form a backing band to support her at a live session on August 22, 2019. He contacted his former classmate and bassist Haraguchi-san, and the two recruited drummer Tamu Murata through magazines and website postings. Mayu met Mary's Blood guitarist Saki through a mutual friend, and Saki in turn introduced them to Disqualia guitarist Hazuki. Feeling that this lineup was too good to play just once, the musicians decided to form a real band. According to Murata, Saki was initially only going to act as the group's supervisor. It was after she decided to join as a member, that Murata decided to join as well.
