Ann and Nancy Wilson. I remember watching this tribute to Led Zeppelin and I had chills almost through the whole song. Her voice and that choir and the band. Soooo epic. Please take some time to go down the Beth Hart rabbit hole with or without Joe Bonamassa. Her led zeppelin cover album I have is amazing. There are only a few that can attempt a n d nail Led Zeppelin. Ann and Beth are t g e females I pick. I grew up in 60s 70s of music. Ann and Led Zeppelin were top tier. If you want to go deep on the rabbit hole and do some Led Zeppelin. Or how about Robert Plant and Allison Krauss as a current duo. Both are so great . Led zeppelin #1 for over 50 yrs .

The Kennedy Center Honors have nothing to do with the president picking them he just observes the ceremony. The Kennedy Center Honors are given to honorees in music, dance, theater, motion pictures and Opera. Nominees are picked by a committee of the Trustees of The Kennedy Center. The John F Kennedy Center for Performing Arts is located in Washington DC. JFK was our 35th President. This Performance was sick. Best cover of Stairway to Heaven ever . So glad they asked them to do it! ✌❤😎

The drummer is the son of the late drummer from Led Zepplin. They had invited him to sit with them and he told them he had a prior engagement. He surprised them by being the drummer for this cover .... and the bowler hat was worn by his father so the hats are in remembrance of him as well!

Anne and Nancy got their start in Vancouver at Mushroom Studios because the US music market would not support a female fronted rock band. Vancouver embraced them, I was living there at the time and saw them at Empire Stadium. They were a shared treasure between Seattle and Vancouver! The only singer who could pull of covering Stairway!

This song is absolutely timeless, and this performance of it is LEGENDARY! I saw Heart live twice in the 80's - but this beats anything I saw then. Of course, the choir and additional instruments helped, but still this is a mind-blowing performance.

Thank you so much for reacting to one of my recommendations! You did an awesome job! Was really hoping you would realize who the drummer was by the end of the song and you did! The U.S. President, John Kennedy, founded the Kennedy Center Honor Awards and his daughter still continues his legacy til this day. Every year a group of people who have contributed in a profound way to the world through the arts are awarded this prestige honor. The current president personally puts the award around their necks and each of them are paid tribute to by their peers on this special night. On this night, one of those chosen was Van Halen. Again, thank you for your reaction. Can’t wait to see your reactions to the other songs I requested.

MOST current Presidents attend. The last one never did, but then the last one never had anything to do with any of the arts, ever (unless you count Kid Rock & Ted Nugent) (and who does?) - except insult or complain about them. I don't know about anyone else, but how can you trust someone who does not love music & other forms of entertainment and has a great sense of humor. I cannot imagine how that is possible for anyone not to be passionate about music. It's inhuman. Usually bands, Broadway plays / musicals, actors and other artists in normal years would visit the White House on a regular basis to be honored. One great moment was when Obama had the cast of Hamilton over one night for an amazing performance. That was my first exposure to that spectacular unique wonderful musical. Check it out on KZfaq. Before anyone gets wound up about what I wrote, please stand down, take a moment, re-read it and notice - I'm not getting political at all, just reporting the facts, which are easily verifiable. So just please be pleasant & respectful and keep any replies on the current topic without veering into deflections and whataboutisms, please. Thank you!

Man you're reaction to this got me in the feels, the pure joy you exude when reacting to a song you really like is priceless, great job!! Sorry I'm a month or so late seeing this, and sorry if this comment is a little longer than the norm, but I thought If anyone would love this story, you would. So I read this in an interview given by Ann in the weeks following this performance, I read it online at either Rolling Stone or another rock magazine site about a year ago, and can't find the link to save my life, but here it is as I remember it...... So the journalist asked Ann how the other artist and the band received the song and if she got any cool accolades from big names. She said she was very humbled by all the compliments her and Nancy received, but was only really worried about what the band, especially Robert, thought. There was a big dinner following the event, just after the meal, Robert approached her table, said hello to everyone and then Ann. He paused for a moment, kind of staring off into space, then said, I've never liked that song over the years. Ann literally started to tear up, Robert looked down realizing the misunderstanding of his words and said, no no dear, I meant I've always thought it dreadful because It's been covered so many times over the years, and no artist has ever done the song justice....until tonight. He took her hand and kissed it, and said, Bravo my dear, and walked off. Ann said she knew right then she could die a happy woman and have no regrets.

😂 “Oof” is a good way to sum this performance up. Yah, Jason Bonham on the drums. I believe he is playing his dad’s drum kit too. The bowler hats were an homage to him. Check out some actual Zeppelin. Kashmir live at Knebworth 79 is pretty epic or the studio version too. PS. I agree that Stairway to Heaven would be a great song to blast into space but I’m pretty sure it’s Chuck Berry’s Johnny B Good amongst others on it. That definitely jams too.

I've encountered a possible urban legend regarding the relationship between the bands "Heart" and "Led Zeppelin" The Wilson sisters were fans of Led Zeppelin, and they would often cover some of their songs. One night they were backstage either after the show or between sets, an employee of the place they were playing at came up and told them that there some people who would like to talk with them. It was Led Zeppelin that met them, having entered during the show, when Heart had covered some Led Zeppelin songs, I think "Stairway to Heaven" was supposed to be one of the songs covered. Led Zeppelin loved how Heart had covered their songs, and that night, Led Zeppelin gave Heart permanent, unlimited permission to cover Zeppelin's songs.

Back in the day, Heart covered a fair bit of LZ at their concerts and after hearing them perform StH, when LZ disbanded Heart was the only band that Jimmy Page allowed to cover StH with vocals. Everyone else - instrumental only - as he'd only heard it butchered when people tried it. Except for Ann - a one in a million voice, and as you say, Empress of Rock. (In their early days, Heart was also affectionately called "LIttle Led Zeppelin" around here in the Pacific Northwest. There's your random trivia for the day - hee!)

Why can't we see them, all I see is your microphone, why? But your reaction was incredible, glad I found your channel.

Sometimes it’s very difficult to upload because KZfaq thinks we’re stealing a song and posting it, so we have to do a little bit of trickery to get it to accept the upload. ❤️❤️

i was checking out your videos, you seem to be stuck on just a few bands, you need to spread out and listen to a variety of music like from the 60's thru the 80's and part of the nineties, im not trying to put you down i just wanted to give you some ideas.
