A bassist, guitarist, pianist, singer, rapper, storyteller, beatboxer, actor, composer, producer... the list goes on and on. In my 50+ years I have never heard anyone quite like Ren. Please check out The Big Push but Ren (the bass player/singer) as well. Incredible catalog of music.

Welcome to the Renaissance! Ren is my favourite artist of all time. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell. He’s 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his life in Brighton, England. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things. He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too. Ren plays acoustic guitar, electric, bass, drums, melodica, sings, raps, beatbox, makes his own beats, produces, and more. Great reaction video! Found you because I’m watching almost every Ren / The Big Push reaction I come across. Dive in! I agree with others saying that the song “Hi Ren” is a good place to start. “The Tale of Jenny and Screech (Full)” is a must watch, too. You say you really like street performances. They are using amps specifically made for busking that are battery powered. They also have a busking PA which is the black box with what looks like a pole sticking up out of it.

I think this is the only reaction to this where the reactor didn't know who Ren was. You HAVE to check out more Ren! He's an incredible talent! Btw, the bass isn't even his main instrument! He's an amazing multi-instrumentalist, playing 7 instruments ridiculously well - acoustic and electric guitar, bass, ukulele, mandolin, piano/keyboard and drums! He plays a few other instruments as well but those 7 are his main ones. What's more, he's self-taught on all of them! It all allows him to lay down all his own music, as he produces all his own material too. He has an incredible voice, capable of multiple styles and tones. He beatboxes really well and he's a world-class rapper. His performance skills are first-class and his songwriting is out of this World! He's a lyrical genius, a poet really. He even makes his own videos, in conjunction with his friend Sam. Most of his videos are recorded live, in a single take, with no edits. He manages all of this, while coping with extremely debilitating and incurable, chronic illnesses, which have ravaged his body and brain. He's currently in Canada, undergoing experimental treatments, to try and repair some of that damage. So, fingers crossed. Because planning ahead, with any certainty has been impossible, he hasn't really been able to tour. Hopefully the treatments are successful and that changes. He's a musical genius, a once in a generation talent and a remarkable human being too. He's determined to remain independent, so he's unlikely to achieve the level of exposure and commercial success of artists signed to labels but he deserves to. His music is incredible and covers many different genres. Though retaining artistic freedom and control is more important to him. With Ren it really is about the music! :)

Its the UK you need no permit..Electricity is a good observation..most perfomers seem to have magical power supplys as we never hear a petrol generator but its been known for them to use battery power units with plugs/sockets on.
