Anneke is an amazing vocalist, and a lovely person. And just as an FYI; the singer of WT, Sharon, was quite sick on the day they did this concert. So it's absolutely mind boggling that she sang so incredibly well. Saying this as a not-fan of the band, but credit is due where it's due. What a combination of talent and perseverance.

There's a song called valley of the queens , with Anneke , Floor and third singer called Marcella Bovio. It's tremendous.

Anneke is amazing and she is beautiful. If it wasn't for her and The Gathering Strange Machines we wouldn't have Floor jansen. Sharon has a fabulous voice also and she is self taught.

They are a Dutch symphonic metal band that started the same time as Nightwish 1996. They are considered one of the pioneers of female fronted symphonic metal bands. The lead vocalist is Sharon den Adel who founded the band together with her partner Robert Westerholt. She applied, and was admitted, to the conservatory for opera training but did not like it so she changed over to the arts-academy within her first semester. So apart from that short stay she is complete self-tough. There she studied clothing design and management and completed it successfully. She has mainly used these skills in designing outfits used on stage. They have had a rather successful run in clubs for couple of years where their performances were constantly sold out. Because of that they got invited to the biggest festival in the Netherlands "Pink Pop". Even though they had a very early start the concert was a huge success. They released their single "Ice Queen"shortly after expecting it to be very successful but it did not do much until somewhere in December that year a dj played it on the radio. Suddenly the song shot up in the charts and even took the number 1 spot. Now other countries started to pay attention. One of the best vocal duets ever. And the icing on the cake? The cherry on top? This concert took place with a full orchestral compliment -- and the beginning was only the orchestra. A full symphonic beginning that was at least 7:30 long. And for every song, the orchestra had their part. This concert was Black Symphony 2008, played with the Metropole Orchestra in the Netherlands. Note: No, Anneke is not on the original version, sadly. I would also recommend hearing Truth Beneath the Rose from this concert -- besides The Heart of Everything and this song, Truth Beneath the Rose is my favorite song from this concert.

I love how you enjoy and see the craftmanship. most reactions completely miss all the small things that makes things complete. The crazy part is, Sharon the front singer of WithinTemption is self taught, when she grew up she always sang, but planned to work with design. She was never trained in styles and such. Ofc, after the band got going an everything its clear she like every other singer trains and evolve and such. But her talent, is talent, I think that is also why her style is so unique.

For Simone I recommend Sancta Terra by Epica, featuring Floor, where she sings with Floor Jansen. I'm quite sure you'll be as equally impressed as with this song.
