Fun fact: Except Tunisia, all other nations that threw away their government in the hope of a better future are in a worse state than pre-Arab Spring regimes. Yemen is divided into three regions with constant civil war since then. Lybia is also divided into three regions now. Those who overthrew Qaddafi have become dictators themselves, e.g, Khalifa Haftar. Egypt as told in the video has come full circle with Al Sisi's dictatorship. Syria is still a battleground for Sunni-Shia-Israeli conflicts. Iraq has been the same since post-Saddam. Sometimes, people turn away from 'stability' in pursuit of 'freedom,' only to find themselves enchained in chaos instead.

I dont think so. The reality is it helped them after the division. Democracy ruled side will fare better than the side that fights for autocratic govt. For eg is India got divided same way and pak chose autocratic rule.

this is the price of failure, if Arab spring had succeeded then there would have been democracy in middle east. It failed due to West's and monarchs' greed and somewhat also due to people and their lack of vision.

@@user-un2ve5eg7o True, certain societies can only be ruled by dictators. Democracy, Autocracy, Monarchy - who cares ? As long as the country is wealthy, powerful and people are prosperous. Look at Singapore, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Brunei, etc. They are all rich and prosperous. Even China and Russian are Powerful countries that wield a lot of influence in the global stage. India was 'Sone ki Chideya' under Monarchy only for thousands of Years.

@@bhakt8247 in 1950 Indian constitution got minorty special rights. In 2008 Indian constitution introduced sharia. But from 2014 onward constitution introduced law like caa and going to nrc ucc which is actually going to minimize strong hold of sharia and minority excess power therefore 2014 India came out of autocratic rule 🤲😖
