I would love for him to stay right where he is, but Clever Cowgirl has mentioned that her plans for Ziggy are to get him strong, healthy, and tuned up a bit, and then find him a loving home. Joining the longing for those days club. Mine were predominantly in Utah, love western states although living in Virginia now. I chuckled at her mentioning her butt not being in riding condition lol. All my horsey muscles would be speaking up, but if I get a chance, even now I'd do it. Even 7 miles right now. Course I might be calling out of work the next day or so, but it'd be sooo wortth it. I do have horses next door so I can get mini horse fixes putting my nose in their neck. Ahhh that smell. They got watermelon treats yesterday too. I rode Arabians in Utah with a trainer. Owned one. Fun days. Never leaves us.

I’m sure CC will make absolutely 100% certain, or as much as humanly possible anyway, to make sure that Ziggy DOES go to the VERY BEST HOME, FOR HIM. There’s absolutely no way anybody wants to see him back in the auction system again. I agree with you also, that I personally can see Ziggy with a younger teenager, possibly their first ever horse, and being loved AND spoiled as he most certainly deserves. Just imagine how he would be feeling? Being dotted on and smothered in so much love and care, with him teaching his new loving owner all about horsemanship and what it feels like to have AND love your horse. Sounds so perfect for him doesn’t it?♥️

@@janey1098 Exactly. So many says he'd be perfect for some teen. That's fine, but what happens to Ziggy when the teen grows up and heads off to college, jobs, marriage, etc? Oh my goodness, that took me back 35 years to when I used to lead groups hacking forestry trails in County Wicklow, Ireland. My 'pay' was riding whenever I wanted for free. I used to take a lovely Anglo-Arab and spend hours in the forest watching the wildlife and enjoying the scenery and the time alone with my favourite horse. The Wicklow Mountains can't compete with yours in Montana but at least we didn't have to worry about bears! Great memories. For a while now I've been hoping you would keep Ziggy, but seeing him here I think he would probably be happier with someone who could devote more time, getting him out and about - time you don't necessarily have to spend with just one horse. I no longer have horses in my life and I so enjoy your videos. I like the way you are with your animals and the way you show the hard work - and risks - that accompanies your lifestyle. Thank you for sharing your passion, it is much appreciated 😊 ❤ from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I love how you gave Ziggy his own determinism mostly lol. Years ago (35) I began riding again and was given an endurance horse who didn’t like to ‘go’ to ride on a trail ride in the High Sierras. There was a beautiful part of the trail and I asked the owners if I could ride him back and run him. They said sure. We had a great gallop and ‘Rice Rocket’ and I were very happy with it. Later the owners asked what I did because he became super forward and willing to move out after that. In truth I did just what you did today which was listen do what the horse is willing to do without extra stress and of course riding with a good seat… thank you for this lovely vid rehabbing one of my best riding experiences.

OMG, this was so fascinating to watch. I love Ziggy. He is such a sweet guy!! And I am, as usual, so appreciative of your knowledge and great heart. This was such a blessing for me because today is a day of non activity for me and I felt so blessed to be able to go on this trail ride with you. I loved every minute of it. I loved it when Ziggy would whinny or snort...I felt like I was on his back some of the time. Thanks so much for including us on your ride. It was memoriable!! Much love and Namaste'. Gigi

It was relaxing to see Ziggy enjoying a calm ride and to hear about potential issues he might anticipate. It was refreshing to see him take in the scenery. What a perfect day.

Reminds me of trail riding (in an English forward seat saddle), on a tidy little chestnut Western mare at Ft Sill OK. I was 11-12 and riding trails on my own when the East Range was NOT firing artillery rounds. I cannot believe I did so much on my own and came back alive. I am nearly 80 and miss it so much so very happy that you and Ziggy are providing me such fresh Montana air delight!

That's wonderful. I felt like I was riding Ziggy, looking between his ears, watching them move in reaction to stimulus, and hearing his hoofs on the various surfaces, with Clever Cowgirl's friendly, calm and informative voice "educating" many of about horses us as she goes.

Donna here, I absolutely loved this video! I have always wanted to visit Montana because I've heard that the scenery was spectacular. I haven't been on a horse since I was a teen. Ziggy was such a good boy! I (and many others) would love to see more videos like this!

Ziggy walked between the puddles because he didn't want to ruin his new shoes, haahaa. Pretty scenery. Yup and the legs, oy, you'll feel it tomorrow. 🙂 Ziggy was just perfect.

It's sad that after a dude ranch is finished with their horses that they just send them to auction where they can be purchased by a kill buyer. It's very cold hearted and distressing that is the way they repay the service their horses give them and their guests. Ziggy still has so much to give. Your ride today was gorgeous and now I'm missing trail riding.

I know. It's like sending old cars to the junkyard. It's deplorable and heartbreaking.

I am SO attached to Ziggy for some reason. From the first video of him, I felt like he had the sweetest eyes ❤ I teared up during the clips of him gazing out at the mountains when yall were alone. Makes you wonder what he’s thinking about. The only time I’ve ever been on a horse was on a trail ride in Montana as a kid. We’re from Louisiana, so these were rental horses lol. The second time we went, they gave me a horse that kept trying to run away from the group while I was on him, and he also tried to scrape me off of him using trees. I was maybe 11-12 years old and the experience scared me from ever trying to ride another horse. Now in my 30’s, your videos make me want to try again. Unrelated: I was furious about there not being any water at the “water stops” 😂
I bought a new AUCTION horse ❤️ was it a mistake?
