That's called paddling, hard for a horse to stay sound with that action.

This is a term I keep hearing but don't understand. I know horses that do that race infrequently. That might explain the late career debut.

His front legs swing out to the side as they're moving forward, like paddling oars in a rowboat. If you look at a horse like Epicenter, his legs are very much underneath and in front of him. Paddling requires extra energy and strength for a horse to keep pace with a non-paddler, so if 2 horses of equal talent faced off but #1 was a paddler, then #2 would pull away because he had more energy and strength for moving his legs straight forward. Paddlers aren't automatically bad bets - Essential Quality and Vekoma are recent examples of Grade 1 winners who paddled. But it's not ideal.

Look at the walkback how Arabian Knight swings his front legs. He does it running, too. I noticed it in the race. Very interesting. Great race!

That running motion is called paddling.

Arabian Knight looks like a very strong climber on the front legs.He should be very tough to stop when level off in long stride over various distance. Therefore,we can let the horse tell us more in 2023 maturity spurts.

I noticed it too. I wonder if his legs were hurting him! It was a less pronounced version of "paddling"!

Well Forte is definitely a champion closer speed and stamina bred.However, being that he his going to stretch out more over classic distances and depending on the speed of track condition and bulkness of field,this could put more pressure on him drawing position. I definately love that he seems to relish a wet track just like Curlin and Essential Quality.Please watch his three year old campaign for further growth interests.

The only wire to wire I saw all weekend! That's saying something. Really went against Cave Rock! Although he doesn't take to being rated! If JJ just let him go, they never would of caught him IMO! Gotta treat a longshot, like he's just not there...

A serious contender for the KD?. Difficult to know, because to this point he hasn't run in 2023 yet, and now he needs a trainer change in order to get qualifying points

This is very tough to say at this stage.Arabian Knight could be way better than FlightLine,Because is strides look much more powerful from the get go and deeper on Keene land track.Uncle MO breeding shows real true class speed with lots of elongated strides.

Give Bob the best horses? Incorrect. He finds them. He found multiple graded stakes winning Havnameltdown, Beyer leader Speed Boat Beach, and stakes winner Hard To Figure all for a tiny little 200K. He simply has the best eye and finds the best horses that others don't want/can't see potential. Check out his vid on YT talking about what he looks for in buying, guy is a genius. Cave Rock was only 550 at a time the market did not like Arrogate.....had he sold this year he would be 1.5 million as people realized what Bob knew laslst year and that is Arrogate is a great sire. Bob is the best trainer too at finding the best blood - just look at Country Grammer with him vs Brown, or how bad Life Is Good and Corniche fell off with Pletcher, not to mention Todd killing and covering up Cezanne.

He runs like a trotter or pacer he has front end movement like that. I wouldn't write him off to me he appears to love to run. If he smart enough not to over race him. All the best to this horse. I hope they stay away from shots

Derby horse for a different, beard, trainer ( trainer in name only covering for Baffert) Baffert is banned from running any horses in the 2023 Derby thank goodness.

Pushing 2 yr olds like that is so hard on the horses. Many of them end up crippled or dead! Wonder if Baffert gave this one some kind of drug? I guess Baffert is back in the good graces of the racing commission! 2 yr olds should not be allowed to race!

Scientific fact: horses with their first start at 2 years of age were at reduced risk of fatal lateral condylar fractures compared to those whose first start was at 3 or 4 years of age.

Hmmmm…wonder if he passed the piss test. You know when you train the finest bread race horses in the world why would you feel the need to cheat? I mean on the largest race Of the year…Kentucky Derby…really. If the industry really gave a dam about the animals and the jockeys that they cary, why wasn’t this man banned for life on all tracks? 13 failed drug test by his horses in one year.
