Valla Sadhya or Aranmula Valla Sadhya is celebration just more than a banquet. It is obviously one of the world's largest vegetarian banquet that serves 63 to 68 items during the feast. ആറന്മുള വള്ള സദ്യ എന്നത് നമ്മുടെ കേരളത്തിലെ എന്നല്ല ലോകത്തിലെ തന്നെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ പച്ചക്കറി സദ്യകളിൽ ഒന്നാണ്. 63 മുതൽ 68 വരെ വിഭവങ്ങൾ വിളമ്പുന്ന വള്ള സദ്യ കൂടുവാൻ എനിക്കും ഒരവസരം കിട്ടി.

Aranmula Valla Sadhya is something that I wanted to experience for many years and it was only in 2019 I got this chance. A banquet that serves over 63 varieties of tastes on a banana leaf is something unusual and a must-try.
It is a custom and a celebration in Aranmula Parthasarathy Temple in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala. During this celebration, boatmen are revered and welcomed. The mass feast also got some strong devotional attachments. The devotees consider the boat, or Palliyodam as it is called in Aranmula, as the divine vehicle of Lord Krishna or Parthasarathy. There are several boats in Aranmula and Valla Sadhya is offered to any of the boats as a "vazhipadu" or offering.
I got the chance to experience a complete valla sadhya, starting from the prayers to the cooking to the boat journey and the feast.
During my Valla Sadhya experience in Aranmula I stayed at Malakkarethu House, a homestay that is located on the Mavelikkara - Kozhencherry Highway in Aranmula.

++ I cant say i hv seen anything like this ever...such an exhilirating take on a traditional snakeboat festival tied to a studded feast all capped with folklore n songs....it was simply a multi orgasmic experience truly !! ++ Your own takes on the rituals...the personal temple attire/ looks to moot...and the seemless stringing through of the various lore, was quite marvellous that made a total novice like me, lean fwd in much anticipation ! ++ The highlight was quite exceptionally the feast with the calling out for the various delicacies through folksongs belted in chorus..! Honestly i cant say if it was the feast that stood out or the whole manner of its ways..! It was just simply spectacular..! ++ Add to all tht, the impressive temple precints...the revered rituals..the traditional kitchen yards...the veneration and the honoring of the oarsmen...the super majestic boats and its prominence in this whole fabric of the town itself and families that live up to these rich tapestry year on year...I cant say i know enough to write anymore convincingly ?! To me..one of the best ever vlogs ! Id revisit again for another dip in this ecstatic take. EJ thank YOUU ! (The kids on the rotary stone..geee id hv tried a hand myself...! Never seen anything like tht ! )

On 16th August 2019,I had conducted a vallasadya for Cherukole Palliyodam at Sree Parthasarathy Temple at Aranmula in Pathanamthitta District. It was a heavenly experience thanks to Bhagawan's blessings. There was no vallasadya in 2018 and till August 12th 2019. Again in 2020 and 2021,there was no vallasadya at Aranmula because of Covid.

This is a ritual offered to Parthasarathy at Aranmula temple, situated on the bank of river Pamba. One Valla Sanya will cost a round Rs 1 lakh.

Ebin chetta. Adyam paatupadiya green shirt chettan is my cousin. Sanil kumar . He got awards for best vanchipppat singer once during uthratathi vallam kali. Our grandfather was also a singer in a palliyodam. Very happy to see this episode. Thank you for bringing memories!!!!
