Brilliant move with the Velcro strip. I’ve been using various rubber/foam but they aren’t very durable.

Been trying to decide between the two aluminum mesh racks for my FJ Cruiser. Just not sure about the modular racks. I like the idea of not having move eyelets around.

I am in the process of ordering a kit the Base 75 I believe, but I am not sure about what tie downs that come with this kit. I would need a some of those spring load tie downs, as well. Do we need to have a T slot for those ? Nice stuff..

How do you find the wind noise, I was told by someone who fits them not to bother without the wind deflector as the noise is unbearable, not sure if they where trying to steer me to their preferred brand but the arb design would suit my needs better.

Hi Ethan - head on over to the ARB Base rack website for vehicle applications. The 80 mounts on the drip rail - no drilling. Its a very solid mount.

ARB here in Australia knows where your wallet is but they are great quality products and their shops install them well.

How does the rack sits on the roof? Does it have an option for roof rails and gutters? I have seen too many times that the old style that sits on gutters digs in and bend the gutters once you load the rack with heavy gear like a raft, coolers etc. There are newer design racks that sit along the whole gutter and distributes the weight evenly and not in 4 or 5 discrete points.

They are discreet points similar to my Gobi - I've never had issues with the way the Gobi mounts - its very secure. With the ARB however, its a new product - so we need some trail time with it in the community. Hi Ofer!

Keen on a follow up video, I’d like to know if that light bar causes a whistling effect. I heard the front runner roof racks are noisy. I got over excited to enter the competition and spelt my email address wrong haha.

I wonder if this can fit on a Toyota Sienna. And, if I want to buy the awning - how does it attach to the car? Do I need this rack? Do I need crossbars if I do not have the rack? I can find nothing that tells me yes or no.

Hi Melissa - the ARB website has the vehicle applications available. The awning mounts to a rack, but it does not need to be this rack. It will not mount to crossbars. Here's some info on the ARB Base Rack Applications: arbusa.com/roof-racks/arb-base-rack/sizes-guard-rail-systems/

Probably flew off. Never said weight capacity…. Static or dynamic, never buy a rack if you don’t know. Reputable rack makers test racks, and publish

To my knowledge it is not a solid, welded, one-piece platform correct?

@@OverlandBound It isn't. You can adjust the crossmembers to fit your vehicle specific backbone rails. And you could of course, if you want, adjust the longitudinal extrusions. But there's no need fot that cause the gaps aren't that wide. Have it on my LR3 and love it, carries >100kgs (way above roof load specs) with no issues at all. Best from OB3690

@@OverlandBound And all that ARB stuff is quite proprietary, isn't it? The widely used T-Slot system allows way more variety and usage of accessories 'cross different makes.

So..$730 for some flat aluminum square tubing welded together...am I missing something??? Literally about 100 bucks worth of material here that could be ordered to your door in a few days. Show me in actual stress tests that the welded version is stronger than one put together w quality hardware. This is just stupid corporate advertising.
