Arbans Characteristic Study 1 slow.MP4

This is the first Characteristic Study from the Arbans book. A few of my students wanted me to re-record this one a little slower so they could follow it better. There are a couple of bleeps on this one as well, but I am not trying to make a perfect recording for these, I just want my students to have a reference to practice from. To me the main focus of these studies, as stated by Arban is for endurance. It is essential that you be able to play the entire Study, including the repeat and have the chops to finish with the high note at the end. Comments are welcomed. I am playing a Sima Bb trumpet, with a Superchops 4 mouthpiece.

I'm having a lot of trouble hitting the correct partials. I keep playing the A instead of G above the staff, or G instead of C in the staff. I'm not sure if it's a breath control issue or what. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.

what you could do it play the G as much as you can that way you will will remember the pressure in the lips and the amount of air you have to use and you can repeat that for the C ... this will help you remember the pressure and air flow :)

I don't curl my fingers all the way either, how many times a day does somebody fix that for you? Countless for me- freshman at Santa Fe College.

I own Trumpet Secrets, Bahb's DVD, and I even took 2 all-day lessons from Callet himself. I'm a pretty good trumpet player, but I, for the life of me, can't figure out TCE. I can spit tongue, but I can't just "play a note." Is this something you can help with? I'd be happy to pay you for a Skype lesson.
