Just wanted to say that I've been making this roast "beef" seitan now for about a month and it's absolutely wonderful! This and another 86eats seitan--roast "turkey"-- are the ones we eat and both are the best we've ever had, and I've made a lot of seitan over the years. This is definitely a keeper. 😊

@@siinrajiaal it favors corned beef. I wish I knew how to make one that might resemble "normal" beef but it's so good that I don't want to risk making one and screwing it up. Seitan is a labor of love and when I mess one up, I have to sit and shed a little tear lol. I have been tempted to make like a pepper crust to roll the seitan in. I think it would add to the flavor

I figured out how to make the lightlife vegan bacon/ blt delicious: I use vegetable margarine, sezchuan peppercorns(in a grinder) liquid smoke, worcestire sauce, garlic powder, black pepper to taste - The key is the cast iron skillet (i think?) I cook it till charred on the edges and brittle. lettuce, tomato, veg-mayo and mustard on slightly toasted bread. Is delicious!

Your recipes look amazing and you give Vegan cuisine a legitimate place for regular meat eaters and a place to marvel at ingenuity for Vegan innovation. I am so interested in trying these recipes! I have eaten frozen chicken made from Seitan and loved it so much I wanted more. I love black bean vegetarian burgers as well. Before I quit eating animals, Arby's was one of my favorite places to eat. I grew up on the beef n cheddar.... Can still remember what it tastes like and drool over it a little bit! Can't wait to try your seitan recipe. I use 86eats for our main deli turk'y and it's great! I saw that you used the Daiya farmhouse block-- it was our favorite plant cheez, but they stopped selling it. Here anyways 🙁

Use Follow Your Heart shredded cheddar and heat the unsweetened coconut (or Cashew) milk up first, then put about half of your cheese in, keep stirring til it's about half melted, cuz it won't bond properly until there's enough in there but adding it all at once makes it ball up together instead--then add the other half, and keep stirring until all of it is melted and gooey, and you're good.

I'm going to try this with cornbeef flavors. I use chicken and beef flavored "bouillon" from my Asian store. They're vegan. Sauce Stache uses them. The beef flavor one has spices that you'd find in brats and cornbeef such as all spice. Kinda like the picking spices you'd boil the corn beef in. I made brats with it, and they were meat eater approved. Now that I think about it you could substitute the Beef better than bouillon with the Asian beef flavor one and make it with yuba no need to slice. I just binge watched a bunch of your recipes and subscribed. I like the fact you use easy to source ingredients.

3:38 That creamed horseradish probably has milk in it. At least in the German grocery stores, you'll usually only find 3-4 brands with milk powder, and one premium brand with the V-Label that costs 4 times as much. Alternatively, you can just DIY: Throw horseradish root in the mixer along with some vinegar and salt.
