Karaoke one night, small bar, asked the guy about arcade fire, this was one of the few he had. Neon Bible forever!!!

Something very magical about the cathedral organ, how it sounds.

This was the first song I ever heard from them. At the time, my father was a pastor of a tumultuous church, and while he meant well, we all suffered for it, to the point where the church didn’t help when we lost our house and were living in a Motel 6. One night a repeat of the episode of SNL Arcade Fire were on played, and they played “Intervention” first. When Win sang “working for the church while your family dies” it felt like someone out there finally understood what I was going through. Later that summer, I bought Neon Bible, and almost 15 years later, I’m still in love with this band. PS- I was lucky enough to hear them play this live, it was breathtaking.

One of their most underrated, but certainly one of my top five AF songs. They only did it three times in the 14 AF shows I've been to. This is magnificent.

Like a lot of people here this was the first Arcade Fire I ever heard and I was stunned by it. Epic in every way - lyrics, music, arrangement, performance. Just incredibly emotional. I must have listened to this song a dozen times over the first day after hearing it. To this day it is a benchmark of how good pop music can be.

As a true Bible believing Christian, who, because of my faith in Jesus, got forsaken, abandoned, and cast out of the church in my area, and even having done volunteer work for music ministry at the time for two churches, I love this song. God began to show me how alot of people are just working for religion, instead of knowing Jesus Christ, which is what Christianity was supposed to be about. Religion destroys much of the destiny's that God has planned for people. No matter how hard I gave and tried, religion just pushed me away harder and harder.
