It's a screwup with the MVS' internal clock, this was recorded in 2008 and the clock mistook it as 1908.

Hell no Fatal Fury is awesome!

Fatal Fury 3 is pretty hard even on level 1 difficulty. Fatal Fury Wild Ambition was also harder to unlock Ryo Sakazaki than he was in Fatal Fury Special. Real Bout Fatal Fury and Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 not so much. Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves was a bit tricky too.

@@budgiecat9039 I would recommend FF Special, Real Bout Special and RB2 and from KOF 97 thru 2000 with 2003, XI, XIII and XIV. Garou is tough because of the mechanics.

I've played KOF 97 and Fatal Fury 1, and they are hell for me even on the lowest difficulty. I got into SNK sort of because of Terry being in Smash. However, be prepared to suffer when you turn on an SNK game.

Played Fatal Fury Special on Switch a year ago. Seems as though the classic SNK games are hard as hell especially on a lower difficulty. But, I got use to it. I have gotten better within a few days, though.

@abrahamWCE I think thats more to due with Shuiesha Jump and Bird Studio (Toriyama) not caring as much as whoever created Akira. Especially since Toriyama is fine with parodies having so many in his own works (Ultraman, Gamera and Superman references in Dr. Slump, Sailor Moon and Jackie Chan references in DBZ etc) Also I'd imagine the rock band Faith No More either never knew or also never cared about Brazil team theme song in KoF 94 being ridiculously too similar to their song Surprise You're Dead, which def coulda been grounds for a plagiarism lawsuit Its pretty obvious the reason K9999 got kicked out and replaced with Nameless (2002 UM) was more to due with a ceast and desist from Akira creators and not SNK themselves.

KOF takes place in its own universe

its actually the day set in cabinet for example 2008 was 08 or 1908 in the game logic

The game just takes the Arcade Machines inner clock. If this is set correctly it will show the date of the day.

If you ever have any interest in checking out the Fatal Fury series, I recommend starting with Real Bout Fatal Fury Special as Fatal Fury 1 didn't age very well.

Not to mention roughly the roster composition of Street Fighter 1 (Only 3 selectable characters in this case and a bunch of bosses).

The last Fatal Fury game, Mark of the Wolves, time jumped from Real Bout Fatal Fury (canonically the fourth game in the series) where Geese Howard truly died falling off a building to his death in 1995, to the year 2006 where his six year old son Rock Howard, who Terry Bogard had adopted after Geese died, was now 17 years old)

@@Hektols the KOF series is in a completely different timeline. KOF was meant to be like the Smash Bros for SNK bringing together all of their characters in one game

@Hektols and now we have characters from Samurai Shodown, a franchise that takes place centuries ago. Each SNK franchise has its own timeline so KOF encounters shouldn't be taken too seriously.
