No way in Hell! Did they really put a 'Yo-Joe!' with Snake Eyes? He DON'T TALK!

I always liked the G.I. Joe personalities, but lets face it, Cobra is way cooler than any of those squares. One of the best things about G.I. Joe the arcade game is that it features practically every Cobra vehicle and character that was produced from that particular era of G.I. Joe. It’s awesome to see so many different Cobra bastards as you rampage through their bases.

Man, Konami was the king of cartoon licensed games. If I had a cartoon show back in the late 80s or early 90s, it would have been an honor to have Konami make a game based on it.

A total classic. Masterful audio mixing and selection. Done with the original cartoon sound effects, commando backflippin' bad guys, machine guns and explosives all made almost entirely with the colors of the American flag.

I’ve played this game nearly 30 years ago back at the former Kitchen 79’ diner back in Philadelphia Pa. as a 19 year old because this was one of G.I. Joe’s first arcade games I’d ever played & it’s the best .

I hate that they had Snake Eyes say "Yo Joe!" at the beginning.

My oldest son used to watch both G.I. Joe series on WDKY-TV in Lexington, WDRB-TV in Louisville and WGN America (back when WGN was a superstation) when he was a little kid. Nowadays, DVDs are from Shout! Factory, and I hope we have enough money to buy the remaining seasons from the first series and the entire second series, plus the Lady Jaye and Scarlett toys!

The only problem with this game really is that you need 4 players to experience the full on spectacle of visual carnage it was intended to be. And dat scarlett booty.....

Man, if the real military was like GI Joe, I would join. I mean, you can wear whatever you want, and you'll never have to worry about dying because the war against Cobra is basically one big game of laser tag.

I loved how GI Joe hated on Cobra because they had more money and investments. The had their own rock band (Cold Slither) they had a telethon (Cobrathon) the Crimson Twins had their own business (Extensive Enterprises). Multiple bases. And what do they have? A base with a cannon that they’ve never used.

I rememebr find this game in an arcade on holiday in Tenerife as a kid... nearly had a heart attack at finding it. Must have spent sooo much money trying to finish it. Love it!!

The Stage 1 music sounds like the intro to the 90's G.I. Joe cartoon, awesome, YO JOE!

The G.I. Joe arcade game is based on the 1990-1992 DIC/Claster G.I. Joe series and stars 4 characters on the show: Duke, Snake Eyes, Scarlett, and Roadblock.

I only had the opportunity to play this a few times at my arcade before they got rid of it. Man this was awesome. Pure, unadulterated destruction and kickass sound effects and music. And yeah, Snake Eyes doesn't talk...lol

I could swear I saw that Cobra hover carrier at the beginning of G.I. Joe the Movie.

It always slays me when they show the characters in the intro and someone yells “yojoe!” When they show SnakeEyes as if he said it. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Anyone else has noticed that the SFX when you pick a power up, sounds a lot to a SFX played during Robert Palmer's song "Simply Irresistible" xD

Wow, it's like they put Space Harrier and the pseudo-3D base levels from the original Contra in a blender with an overdose of Reagan-era jingoism and turned the violence up to 11. I'd ask why this never got a home port back in the day, but no system from back then could have handled the awesomeness.

The Cobra Flying Carrier vs The S.H.E.I.L.D. Helicarrier.

Its 2018 and they need to bring this to consoles, steam and mobile. Thankfully there is MAME emulation

Wow, one mission in this game is almost about the same length of time as all the stages in Jurassic Park arcade.

I remember the first time I beat the game on a quarter. It starts over for free. Got to the final boss. Another quarter later, started over. That's when I decided it was time to stop playing. I miss this game.

This is when G. I. Joe was AMAZING! Great characters, stories, and soldiers going out and protecting their country from TERRORISTS! Not fake Russian crap (Call of Duty, Battlefield or any modern game). AND this game is MORE INTENSE than most shooters today! I played the heck outta this back in the day! I STILL LOVE IT!

This guy is a rookie, I used to hit almost 1,000 points in the first round. I had mad hours playing with just one coin. This was cool game back in the 90's!
