Boscombe Pier (next to Bournemouth) early 80s, was blown away by it. The sound and music! So evocative of those times even now in 2024. Recently I played it on my Lightning Modz console and was delighted to find the FBNeo version has gamepad perfectly setup and calibrated by default, it was the first time I'd been able to play it properly since the old days. You must be very proud of your cabinet, it's lovely!

I think most arcade gamers of that early 80s period was totally in awe of that cabinet when you first saw it. It was the whole experience - the cockpit, the immersion, the speakers behind your head, the flight yoke. You WERE in an X Wing and it was perfect. It must have took in coins like nothing else!

Just picked it up from Amazon for £487. Love it. Screen is great, speakers are nice, and great fun to play. You are making me think about the yoke upgrade.

It is an absolute steal at that price! Sometimes I actually forget there are two other games built into the thing but they are pretty poor in comparison. Empire is just awful! After releasing such a masterpiece what were they thinking?!

This was the big game for me as a kid of the 80s, absolutely loved Star Wars, might get one if I win the lottery 😂

It was easily one of the best games ever made for the arcades and I put so many coins into it. It’s part of my childhood for sure.

That's brill, I want one, the sit 3:11 down was my go-to game back in the 80s, sent shivers down my spine , way ahead of the rest then.

It totally was my friend. If I spotted that in an arcade - and lets face it, what arcade worth its salt didn't have one? - I always made a beeline for it and sometimes spent all my money in that one cab. I did give me massive migraines as a kid if I played too long - but my one does not. I wonder if it was the flicker from the vector screen?

It’s awesome. I once wanted my own original - but looking after one of them is a full time job. This is spot on and fits quite nicely in the shed.

Yep so did I! The price was reasonable over Black Friday otherwise I’d not have got one. I’ve seen them online for £780 plus. A bit silly!

Thanks! I had it made up. Just grabbed the image from Google and got a few of them printed off from a vinyl print company. Looks great I think!

I own the 1st revision and was informed that the second revision has a more washed out screen in comparison. The only plus from some I've heard is the light up coin door.

I can honestly say it doesn’t look washed out to me but then I don’t have a rev 1 to compare it with! To state that the only plus is the light up coin door suggests it’s worse or the same in every other way. I can’t see them making it to much cheaper standard given its demand? I’m very happy with mine to be honest and glad I was able to get hold of one.

In about 5-9” / 5-10” and it doesn’t give me any aches at all that I’ve noticed!

@@TheRetroShedCool, thats what I wanted to hear. I was worried that I'd be too tall for it. I'm 5-11. By the way, I think that there is a guy on ESTY selling the side mouldings should you want them.
