COOLTOY that’s pretty awesome. It’s better what I expected. I have the first wave of Street Fighter II cabinet so I got all the flaws. I’m glad Arcade1Up upgraded their product and left more room for us consumers to do a little bit more tinkering

R. James Taylor II I got that same first wave 1 SF cabinet as well. It’s currently in my gym lobby and still going strong. The people who play it don’t even notice it’s little quirks so it ends up working out fine.

In the early '80s here in Salt Lake there was this restaurant in Trolley Square where they had about a dozen cocktail arcades for tables. I would love to see somebody do this again.

There was a pizzeria that I visited as a kid that had a couple of cocktail cabinets. I remember playing them, playing tunes on the jukebox that had CDs in it. Coke and pepperoni pizza. Those were good times.

I'm 45, so we had a mall in Frederick called FRANCIS SCOTT KEY MALL. They had a huge Arcade and a whole section dedicated to cocktails....I loved TEMPEST, FROGGER, and the NINTENDO RED TENT with Baseball 2 Player!

Micah Bageant For real? I’m 5 years younger than you, but I vaguely remember those cocktails at FSK. I spent a lot of time in my youth there (Fun Factory if I remember correctly) and the Frederick Town Mall, which wasn’t nearly as impressive.

@@toasty726 yes sir! They had around 10-12 in one section....That was luxury to get up there from Hagerstown Mall which had TIMEOUT. I spent many evenings at TIMEOUT but we went up to FSK on Special Ocassion. I think the Red Tent Nintendo might have been at TIMEOUT instead of FSK. I miss those days....I have every game u could think of on my my modded Xbox and Xbox 360! Huge Collector of Arcade Sticks for the Consoles so that's a plus when using either Coinops or FINAL BURN, MAME, on these modded units.

You are killing me man. I thought for sure this was something I was t interested in. Then I watch this and I’m convincing myself it’s the perfect coffee table for the game room. Functional Furniture indeed. If I can find a deal on it maybe...it’s like $700 here in Canada right now so yeah I would still have to find a deal on it but it’s been upgraded to a definite maybe

Nice review. Finally got a Pong head to head table. Works very well. Just have to figure out how to get rid of a contact artifact between the plex, and the center of the table. LOL Thought a rat got on the table, until I took a closer look. It went away when I started lifting the plex off the table, but came back when I reattached the plex. Very odd, but doesn't make playing unplayable. LOL I nearly went with one of the fighter head to heads, but the dual play screens were too small for me to see, so I waited for the Pong table to come out, as I also wanted it to be simultaneous multi-player friendly, yet with big enough screen area for me to see, but not wait-your-turn style. LOL They are great pieces for the home arcade. Nearly got the Pong pub table, but it's too expensive, and only has 8 games, compared to 12 on the Pong head to head.

I owed several Cocktail Cabinets in the 80's.. Pacman, Ms. Pacman, Frogger 1 and 2. To me this is how you play an Arcade Game.

Got one of these when they launched. Since then I've covered the sides in woodgrain contact paper and put it on sofa legs (I'm also 6'1"), it's still a great part of my living room. I did put a pi in it for a little while but now I'm back on the stock PCB (accidentally fried the LCD control board while mucking around, whoops)

@@r.t.8468 Yes, there's a retroarch cocktail shader out there, it's very fiddly to configure but you can get the two head-to-head screens with it

I had an original cocktail `Puckman` ( the original Pacman name in Japan and Europe ) I bought it dirt cheap in the mid to late 80`s, when it broke in some way it got thrown out ...... worth a fortune now I here ........ boohoo

Good review brother. Honestly I'm not interested in the cocktail sf2, as I have the upright, but I am interested in the pac man one, and your review was more informative for that cabinet than other reviews of that actual cabinet! (Thicker plastic on top, etc.) Good job dude, you're the man! Thank you! Is it weird, sf2 on that form factor? I would think it would be.... definitely a little different, to say the least

NACHO LIBRE you can install either one of those with certain caveats, which I will mention in a future video. I personally am not using either.

Thanks for the review! I kind of want this. Hyper Fighting alone makes it worth the price of admission. I just wish there were different games on here. I have the Final Fight one already, and I want to own the basic Street Fighter one someday. I wish this had Alpha 2 or CvS2. It'd be a must buy if it did.

No, the wave 1 street fighter cab didn’t use the same Sanwa clone joysticks as this cocktail and most of the newer Arcade1Up cabinets do, so unfortunately those gates wouldn’t fit on it.

Bo Knows depends on what each persons perspective on what it should be is. Legs are the only must have I think for most adults. Everything else is either a superficial upgrade or something due to person preferences. That said, even with all the upgrades I plan on doing to this, my total expenses including the cabinet will probably be $600 in total.

My sister and brother-in-law bought a cocktail cabinet a few years ago. Has a coin door and all. Has a ton of games on it, can't remember the name of the company that made the cab. They paid like $2,000 for it at Lighthouse Pools and more.

It's weird the first time for sure, but thats actually what won me over. The first time I got to play against another person on the other side of the table I had an absolute blast, and quickly realized the appeal of this format.

Can you swap the pcb board in the coctail table and put it in the stand up cabinet that came out in wave 1

The original wave 1 units used different pin connections between the PCB and monitors. If you wanted to put this PCB board in a wave 1 cabinet, you would essentially need to gut the entire cocktail cabinets components and transfer them into the wave 1 cabinet. Way too much work for what is involved. It would be a simple switch to put this cocktail pcb in one of the newer cabinets from later wave releases though.

buttons and joysticks are the easiest things to replace on these machines, there are several plug in play replacement options out there.

Fahri Akalin the controls, buttons, artwork are different on the black series. Not to mention the price is higher, and the black ones are only available from Arcade1Up’s website and not from retailers currently

it's taller than most average coffee tables, but the thick protective plexi top allows you to sit anything on it without worrying about damaging the machine.

I would uninstall the PCB and install Mister FPGA , this week capcom CPS 1 FPGA core will be released. Commando is already finished.. No input lag , accurate sound , what more would you want

John Smitherson it’s the exact same screen size that Arcade1Up has used in all their cabinets except for the countercades. Not sure anyone should be surprised by the size of the screen used here

Arcade1Up does not have the license to create anything with Donkey Kong. There are several versions of their Pac-Man cocktail machines available online at retailers like BestBuy, Walmart, Sam's Club, and others.

only on the game Commando, the other games still have the mirror effect in 1 player gameplay

I have a question. I really want the MK legacy cab but I’m wondering if the control deck issue is a deal breaker in Thur opinion . My wife and I have small hands if that makes a difference . Now I hear there is an MK legends cocktail Cab coming if that’s true. I thought that was weird for a fighting games , even for joust and wizard of Wor . I always picture one player games where the screen switches Perspective in between players but it seems to work and even be very cool ? Thoughts ? Have your heard the MK cab is coming in cocktail format ? Thx

Yes there will be a MK cocktail cabinet released later in the year from Arcade1Up. Expected to have the same game line up as the legacy cabinet.

@@cooltoy would you wait ? I wonder if it’s still cool when you only play on half the screen ? Seems interesting . What would tu choose given the issues with the 3/4 cab ? Also maybe the 2 player games will be better since I hear it’s a bit cramped for 2 player games ….but I want it now ! Lol You have great info ! I have not heard about the head to head anywhere else

unless you feel you just have to have a MK cabinet right now, I would definitely wait until more details about the MK cocktail cabinet are officially released. That way you can compare the two machines features against one another easier.

@@cooltoy thanks !! I’ll wait ! A random question . I just assemble my king pub table and love it but I notice on Pong that easy , medium and Hard all seem the same . I thought the speed /paddles would change . Any idea ? Also the spinners are great for pong and breakout and whilst not free spinning work Well for tempest and with high scores , everyone is working with the same spinner !

PITBULL lol yea I definitely need to cut my hair and shave, wife likes it. I hate it, so it’s a loose loose situation It’s probably been a decade since I let my hair grow out long enough for a ponytail. Doubt I could let myself do it again without want to beat myself up 😆

If I were king I would order CAPCOM and Arcade1UP make an upright with online capability where you can pay for additional titles. Putting Commando in the cocktail only for this 6'3" guy is just plain rude. ;) While they are at it I hope they can get the license for Gun.Smoke and the rest of their vertical shooters for Arcade1UP cabinets. I can play Gun.Smoke, Commando, and the 19xx series for many hours at a time. Thank you for the video. +1

I find the games to be too difficult. I got beaten easily by the CPU after passing the second fighter. Commando was simply unplayable. Got kill easily before reaching that first bridge. If anyone know how to change the difficulty setting, please advise.
