Volodos is, in my opinion, the finest pianist with the softest touch - not just in this generation, but thru the time that recordings have been made! It is food for the soul…

check out Ivan Moravec then :) but yeah, Volodos has everything.

Bozhanov is up there too. Volodos has the richer sound though.

@Mazzel Tov oh that's not true, Volodos' piano is heavily modified, my piano technician told me about the demands he had before playing here in Prague (Rudolfinum) last November. But that's kinda common thing, it's just not true he plays whatever you give him.

Arcadi in socks with Bill Evans on the wall. Magic!!!
It's so enjoyable to watch him playing the piano every time, no matter what he played.💕

Great, more videos of this outstanding pianist whose dazzling technique and sublime musicality never fails to capture our attention and delight our senses. Sheer Schubertian spirit...This is poetry 🌹

Letś not only praise the grandmaster: lovely, very colorful and very round sound of the instrument, wonderful pianissimo. Of course it takes a real master to produce such sounds, no matter how good the instrument.

I thank God for the profound musicianship of this man. I’ve been listen to him through the years and his exploration of these profound repertoire, as opposed to the virtuosic works that propelled his career, has been so good for the soul.

Is he at his own home? And the great Bill Evans watches to Volodos' back! Precious!

I'd also love to know if this is his home. I know Volodos loves Evans but it would be too cool to know that he has an entire wall dedicated to Bill 😍.

The technical stuff he does is "cute", but I very much prefer him on more subdued, cerebral works. This is splendid, actually.

The second “minuet” (in this case it is impossible to write this word without quotes) is, rather, a sarabande.

To my mind, there are hundreds of pianists with a soft touch, even young persons in the conservatoires.

You've listened to all of them and still lack the cognitive skills and aural awareness to hear the difference? Poor mind indeed.

@@ianboard544 generally i find him to have too much focus on technique and showing off rather than making music sound like music. To me his playing often sounds like banging

@ganjamozart14352 жыл бұрын
@@DJStefandeJong I find this critique very surprising. If anything I've always considered Volodos to always have been the most consummate musician. He eschews showmanship, he has remarked that early on in his career, his agent used to force him to play a lot of the virtuoso show pieces against his will. He even remarked that he found it sad watching younger pianists playing his flashy transcriptions.
@daffyduck41952 жыл бұрын
What kind of piano is he playing. His Schubert tone is too soppy for me, and it could be the piano itself.
