The fact that people crying over a villain death is just show how perfect Riot make a silco as a villain, he is a perfect example on how you make a villain in a story, he's terrifying, evil but at the same time you can see why he is who he is and sympathize for him, in another story silco could be a hero.

To be honest I don't know if I want a second season. This episode wraps everything up in a nice little bow of tragedy. It's like watching a trainwreck - more and more cars piling up, the momentum undying. Just getting progressively worse as we see the Gemstones be utilized for weaponry - with the thumping march of war seemingly inevitable. And when you think it'll turn around and get better - a resolution, finally! The avenues of peace: Silco and the Council get shot down by Jinx.

It's episode 7 when i became so interested in Arcane, the Ekko vs Jinx was just so iconic for me. It's the last episode of the season that made me fall in love in this show, the "Sheesh, I'm not that crazy" scene (ur definitely that krazy jinx😂), Jinx asking Vi to love and accept her not as Powder but as Jinx, Silco dying, Powder fully embraced herself as Jinx then launching her ult to the council!

@ZchinoZ942 жыл бұрын
@BattleAngelFan someone gave an explanation that both Vi and Silco were arguing with the wrong type of statements. As they pointed out, Vi bringing up “family” was just further personifying her trauma, and not only did it widen the gap between them, it just further proved how much Vi never fully connected with Powder further than surface level. For Silco, it goes back to how he realizes Vander’s perspective, how truly important Jinx is to him that he’s willing to throw away everything, something that potentially could’ve benefited Zaun and work to some type of peace, for an adopted daughter that he clearly would’ve killed anyone for, even her sister. That “you’re perfect” line is, like you said is the worst thing he could’ve said, but he unconditionally and blindly loved her as his own, something like those parents who’d blindly defend their child in some tv show. Vi failed Powder by believing family would bring her back. Silco failed Jinx by making her believe there’s no reason to go back. Powder’s gone, and Jinx’s chaotic rampage that has caused her to lose everyone she loved will continue because that’s what she now believes as “perfect.” Again I’m just paraphrasing some Reddit post, probably explained better there lol

@BattleAngelFan your looking through your own moral compass to silco she is perfect
@ragnarian Жыл бұрын
@BattleAngelFan 9 months late I know, but silco raised jinx to be able to survive in the cruel world that is Zayn, where you the strong take from the weak In the river baptism scene silco says 'jinx is perfect', showing he wants her to be jinx, to get rid of all of powder Vi only ever calls her powder, refusing to acknowledge that her sister has changed and is no longer the sweet little girl she knew Silco' final words of 'you're perfect' shows that he no longer cares if she is jinx, powder or something else, he loves her no matter what It shows a great development of what he used to see her as and what he thought was best for her to what she is now.
@Xanderj892 жыл бұрын
I love that Silco always treats Jinx like normal. Always just talks to her calmly and respectfully in even tones, not reacting to her antics or mood swings like they are weird, just trusting that Jinx is smart and capable underneath it all. From the scenes in his office where she is swaying to and fro, jumping around the room, making random comments, he just keeps up his conversation. Contrast it to every other interaction Jinx has where people are super uneasy around her, or talk down to her. He puts his trust in her, shows her that he needs her. Even here, he was shooting at Vi to stop her from triggering Jinx's PTSD, and knew she was completely overwhelmed, and didn't sit there blaming her at all for reacting to protect her sister, he just tries to assuage her guilt and sadness. Like you said, she has always wanted someone to accept and love her for who she was, and Silco really did.
@-Zikade-2 жыл бұрын
Also those other people kinda mocking Silco for "having Jinx take care of stuff" but like... that's what she always wanted. He believed in her whereas before she had been basically called a burden who ruins everything, got left behind too which she took really hard. But Silco is like "Nah, YOU are the one I trust to do this." Even after the timeskip she still has these insecure moments and Silco always answers in a confident encouraging manner. Gosh, I want S2 to have flashbacks scenes of her growing up with Silco T_T.

man, people baby jinx way too much. that was literally the reason she decided to kill silco to save vi. jinx is running from all the people in her life she loved as powder and distorting their faces and memories so as to not feel pain and stay in jinx mode, an efficient killing machine. but she NEEDS to feel that pain in order to accept everything that happened and everything she's done. jinx has quite literally kinapped vi and caitlin and is now threatening their lives, and vi is still trying to appeal to the part of her that feels love. it's painful as hell but it must be done, especially in such a high stakes scenario where lives are on the line. vi did the right thing and the only thing she could have done at that point, as someone who still loves her sister and still believes in her. it paid off because it saved their lives but it was tragic because jinx killed silco and that death and his memory will be engraved with far more power than he had when he was alive and trying to manipulate her into forgetting everything and everyone (he mightve had good intentions too, but that's what he did)

This is a refrence to when they where younger and played the game where they would come up with monsters that would fight each other. In the end of the game Vi would allways make a to scary monster and Powder would start crying. So Vi had to chase her own monster away. In Jinxs eyes Caitlyn is a monster (thats why in episode 7 she sees her with devil horns and a evil grin). So when she says "Make her go away please" It really hits very close to home for Vi. Thank you. Finally someone that gets it. It is why Jinx can murder enforcers with such callous ease. They are monsters to her, as imprinted on her mind so many years ago on that bridge. Her issue doesn't lie with Vi being with someone, it lies with her being with an *enforcer* . It is why she struggled with her name. It is why she makes Caitlyn wear her dress uniform to the dinner party. Silco made that deal with Marcus probably to keep them out of Zaun and away from her as much as possible, so to her he was keeping the monsters at bay. Her aquiring the hextech was a means to tip that balance so he wouldn't need a 'deal'. And part of that hate was cultivated by Vi, herself, which is why to Jinx it feels like she's changed, has lied, and has betrayed her. Imagine, if you will, someone who raised you to be devout suddenly becomes an atheist, or vice versa.

But peace was never an option, was it? Silco did not intend in giving her up, so the terms of the peace were broken even before the vote happened. Silco is out of play, and is strongly implied that Sevika might run things from now on. Sevika, who CERTAINLY doesn't have love for Jinx. Is someone could dissociate COMPLETELY from Jinx's actions, and even offer complete aid and alliace to Piltover in capturing her, it just might be Sevika. This theory might make more sense in my head rather that how I explained it, but the situation might be practically perfect to GARANTEE peace between Piltover and Zaun... and the CREATION of Zaun by extention as an independent nation, THANKS to Jinx making herself EVERYONE's (both topside and undercity) public enemy n. 1.

I'm glad you guys reacted to Arcane and enjoyed it overall (despite all the suffering that you went through. Yeah, sorry about that). As for the episode, it is one of the best closures we could have had knowing that everything ends so abruptly and yet they managed to give importance to all the characters (some more than others) but it feels like a satisfying ending to introduce season 2. Long-ass comment ahead. One of the things that I enjoyed the most was that Arcane is full of parallels between a lot of characters, messages and subtextual elements that I'd like to highlight, but this comment would be biblical in length, so the most meaningful part for me was just before the whole rocket scene, exactly when Jinx sits on the chair. That image has a brutal narrative weight that defines Jinx's character as such, as what she is and how that cannot change. There are only four spoken lines, but the blocking, the shots, the cuts, Sting's song coming in slowly, make this one of my favorite sequences from Arcane. It is not only about Jinx accepting herself as she is because Silco motivated her to do so, but also literally reaffirming her identity as a jinx, since once again because of her, a part of her family dies and everything leads to an explosion that interrupts an imminent peace. That's something she will have to learn how to live with and maybe that's why she left Vi, because she brings "bad luck" and may fear that her sister ends up like Vander, Silco and the others but also maybe Jinx can't fully accept Vi despite yearning for her all those years they were separated. A big part of the series of the series was about Vi trying to find the sister she left behind, only to be blinded by that guilt when she abandoned her and didn't realize that in the present that Powder no longer exists, and yet Vi ( with a little selfishness) fights to get her back even if it hurts her younger sister reminding her trauma. And what I find particularly tragic is how they diverted attention to make believe that everything was about Vi trying to find and maybe accept Jinx as she is now, however, Jinx's perspective was never explored in depth trying to accept Vi as she is now, because in fact, as Jinx herself says, she changed too. That was a subtle turn of events that makes their relationship even more complicated. In the end Jinx made her decision. This was an episode about taking decisions, about letting go things like abandoning the ambition of saving oneself for the greater good (Viktor and the hexcore), wanting peace after experiencing the horrors of war (Jayce), rejecting our origins for a better future (Mel), giving up a lifelong dream for a loved one (Silco) and accepting oneself for who we are with all the bad that it implies (Jinx). I'm pleasantly surprised that Arcane was better than it should have been and it wasn't just a series with pretty visuals and catchy music but it had so much more to offer emotionally. I'm pretty sure season 2 won't dissapoint since we may have some hints of what's gonna happen because of the game's lore. Ladies, it was a pleasure to have rewatched this series with you.

I feel like a lot of movies and shows force the climax to be this big spectacle fight scene to try to outdo everything they've shown up until that point, but instead Arcane gives us their characters sitting at a dinner table. And yet the result is so intense that it holds every ounce of your attention until the credits roll. The climax lies entirely within the characters and their emotions. M A S T E R P I E C E.

She sits there causing her agony, triggering her and invoking those demons that torment her, and Jinx was *begging* her to stop. Literally curling up in a ball, pitifully pleading for her sister to stop making more monsters appear. And Vi saw that and just kept on going, kept saying more names even as she watched how it hurt Jinx, she was dead set on the thought that she was saying good things to bring 'Powder' back. She did not accept who Jinx was, and was literally torturing her sister, actively ignoring her pleas. Meanwhile Silco tells Vi to shut up. He tells Jinx not to listen. He was instantly vindicated, what he said was coming to pass right in front of his eyes, Vi betraying Jinx once again, and so he finally pulled the gun on her to protect his daughter, to stop Vi from hurting Jinx any further.

It's definitely become one of my all time favourite shows and there is so much to gain from re-watching. Fortiche and Riot did an outstanding job at creating this masterpiece. Afaik they're aiming for a 2023 release and i wouldn't be surprised if its around the same time again, probably later rather than earlier. It's definitely gonna be tough following up a show that's this good but the writers and animators have my trust to make it great. Btw. the 6 years production time that gets thrown around is mostly not actual production. They started the project 6 years ago working on a pilot episode, but it took a lot of time to pitch the show and get the funding while the writers who hadn't written any show before were trained and researched how to pull that off, which might be a reason why it feels so fresh despite the topics not being all that groundbreaking. The execution is just perfect and they didn't take any noticeable shortcuts. The actual production time was more like 3 years also impacted by the pandemic and they had to figure out a lot of pre-production stuff first, like artstyle, characters, transforming the scattered and inconsistent LoL lore into a coherent story
