The Hex gates are just a "fast travel" method. Think of it as a transporter to get around to other locations on this planet. Powder is no longer Powder. Jinx is a traumatized 'child' who has visual and auditory hallucinations, especially of Milo who always called her a jinx and always belittled her.

Great reaction! :) Yes, it was Marcus who put Violet in jail. Poor Jinx is heavily traumatised and she's seeing things (like Milo) that aren't there.

"That. Was. Amazing!" YES. The last line of this episode never fails to give me goosebumps. It's such a great reintroduction to Vi and a fantastic way to show that the two independent storylines of Act I are starting to collide.

Did Jinx hang that swing up just so she could write Boom on it? There is no function for a swing down in a cargo bay.

She's there to protect the cargo... most times there is likely no threat to the cargo and she's just bored inside the cargo hold. Grab some rope and a piece of wood and she has something fun (for a girl whose mental maturity is stuck at 10 years old) to do... swing... and draw pictures with her crayons. She had plenty of time to write "boom" on the bottom of her swing after she heard the "oh shit, it's the firelights" above and the firelights coming down into the ships hold.
