The fact that he finally outran the boat, the amount of symbolisms on this show is GLORIOUS

She loved him so much she didn't even stop to think, she just wanted to save him from whatever is happening.

The moment he started running is so beautiful. The moment he stood up covered in sliced runes across his body I just went "Oh FUCK."

You can see the boat in the background and he manages to run past it. When he was a kid he couldn't keep up with the toy boat

Had this pause while watching this scene because it hit me how alone Viktor was. Sure Sky and Jayce sometimes interact with him, but until Sky's sacrifice none of them was there for Viktor in his important moments (like when he's running) and/or seems to notice the changes in him.. that hit me hard and it made me very sad for him

I have a friend who sits in a wheelchair and watched this scene, you can only imagine how he felt watching it

Man, my heart is so little for sky. I didn’t know her love was that crazy for viktor. I don’t know what to feel now.

I broke my neck, lost everything below that for awhile, i got better bit by bit after months of rehab. After watching this episode it inspired my to run at all costs. I was able to get a slight jog before falling. Viktor is my hero.

I just remembered that the first time he touched the hexcore with shimmer, he was covering his leg with runes. And now in this scene, he completely covered himself in runes. He was so desperate to get rid of his disease.

Felt so happy for viktor he could walk again and then it was taken all from him i mean we were getting progress and they undid that and made it worse

Anyone else notice when he yells his eyes are still slightly open so he can see where he’s running. Just the tiny details that make this show glow to damn bright to be from a game!

Viktor when he hits his augmented Q and gains movement speed

Singed warned him that they would despise him and Viktor was okay with that, but he never considered he'd end up despising himself.

The whole conflict of the battle for progress against time was captured amazingly with Viktor. His death was in front of his nose and had nothing left to lose. The scene shortly after this where he realizes how much his work inspired Sky is heart wrenching. His work would live on long after he passes, progress would happen but not in his lifetime.

For fck sake I never thought I would empathize so much for a character I almost never played and cared for ! It's just so sad to know what he'll become...

It's not only the juxtaposition of Viktor the kid unable to keep up with his toy boat while outrunning the real boats after his transformation, but the directions that they are running in those two scenes. Viktor the adult runs in the opposite direction of the water flow from the kid scene, implying that he is starting to run against nature, and the first time I watched this it left me speechless.

It's amazing that in a world of magic, advanced technology, and wonderous creatures, something that seems so trivial in comparison like a man being able to run for the first time hits us as people harder than anything. Such a great moment.

This is the saddest scene of the show for me. It's pure loneliness. The only person who silently care for him... Evaporated. The first run on the dock is beautiful tho. Victor is a true tragic character.

What I love about his walk is how his arms still move like he would move with a crane but the more secure he gets the more he moves both of them. Amazingly made by the animators

God the subtle tone of denial in Viktors voice at the end just gives me chills every time

Dude the instrumentals when Viktor starts running was phenomenal

Its so upsetting that Sky to the viewer was how Sky was to Victor. Unimportant, not acknowledged. Until it was too late and her worth and intentions and ability and her care was truly shown.

this was the first scene ive ever watched from Arcane without necessarily being mega spoiled and i was fucking ENTRANCED by it.

This in my opinion the best scene in all of Arcane. It is incredibly powerful, and personally it just feels different. I have suffered my whole life because of a congenital disease, and the idea of running freely like that almost makes me cry.

everyone talks about viktor as an arcane character but I love him so much just by his lol persona

i watch this scene all the time i love arcane so much and he's my favorite i have a disability that affects my left side (mild cerebral palsy) just making my muscles tight and even though i am fortunate enough to walk and do everything that i can do i would love to run and seeing him run warms my heart, he's so desperate to "fix" himself he'll stop at nothing, i understand how it feels and maybe we all feel that way about something about ourselves but ive thought that way a lot, how I'd be able to do so much more even though i don't want to think that way and be greedy or something sometimes those thoughts pop up, because sometimes society makes you feel if you aren't this way or that way (about a lot of things) that you don't matter, but it isn't true ive struggled for years to like myself and even now its always something ill have to work on and that's okay but something i try to remember is you don't have to or need to be a certain way or be perfect to matter, sorry for typing all of this ik its a lot lol but i think about viktor, arcane, all the other characters, and how well all of it is written i love this show so much thank you for taking the time to read my thoughts if you got this far lol

Imagine the thrill of taking a first un-assisted step in your entire lifetime. Knowing you've just opened the next door to potentially saving yourself, and untold others. All the while knowing; things that are too good to be true, usually are. And it's conveyed in like 5 seconds, if that. The writers, producers, acting, and most importantly the artists did just such an amazing job. Well done on them, they deserve the praise. Just look at all of the foreshadowing and, specifically, the boat in this scene. IMO I hope they leave this story arc for a while, try something different, and in a new area. This show is a perfect example of how it should be done.

Six years well spent. As far as I'm concerned, Arcane is the new standard. Not just for video game adaptations... but out of everything on the market. This is GOT, Breaking Bad, The Wire, etc., territory... (IMO, better than all of the above due to my personal preferences - and yes, I understand you can't compare 5+ seasons of quality to one opening season... but come on people... this is obviously a different level of story telling. This ain't just a job for them... this is passion and sacrifice without the limitations of phony corporate Hollywood). Came out of no where too (if you're not into League), I almost forgot what 'great' was for a second... Thank you Fortiche and Riot! Please take your time with what's next. Be as satisfied as you were with season one. It'll be worth the wait.
