He plays on an original Nes system, and uses a power pack. It's an Nes cartridge that uses a compact flash card. I have one, and they are great.

Not only that he performed at peak level for 5 hrs, he probably only had a couple deaths the whole run if he had any at all (I haven't watched the whole 5 hrs so not sure)
