As I watched you holding the torch cable to relieve the weight, I started picturing adding a 'skyhook' to do that job. Maybe something like a 1/4" rod extending vertically from behind the ArcDroid and curving high over the table [and you] to the point above the cable that your hand currently is. A hook bent at this end holds a vertical length of stiff wire with a loop at top and a hook at the bottom that cradles the cable. The spring tension of the curve is employed to provide the required lift. If the 1/4" rod is dropped into a 6" length of vertical tube which is base welded to a flat square, then that can just be temporarily G-clamped when and where you want it. Plus the rod can then pivot through an arc to stay relevant to the torch's position or to be swung out of the way at will. Grind a 'ball end' at the base of the rod and add a drop of oil to ease movement. The rod may need to be quite tall or ? mark shaped to be 'wippy' enough for the torch to move from the front of the cutting envelope to the rear without compromising the torch movement. Might take a bundle of experimentation but there's the idea if it makes sense to you...

I wanted one for simplicity of the tracing but after seeing this I'll just keep designing and using my 4x4 cnc plasma

How did it do with those cut outs doing it with the trace feature? Since those aren’t just straight line shots from point to point? I’m interested in one of these but the trace features is the biggest reason. I was thinking it’d be more like, a just follow the edges with a pen type deal. Basically like a dry run but your moving it along the path of the run first time. How does it do with hole cut outs inside a piece for the trace feature?

I am working on building a table for a future arcdroid purchase. I have seen conflicting dimension information for the 1/4 baseplate it's mounted on. I've seen 10inches deep but given a 15.75in wide as well as 20in wide and don't k iwnwhat is accurate. Could I impose on you to measure the length and width of that 1/4 plate on your arcdroid?
