“TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED TOWN” NOGOKPO is an anointed town of God and You don’t touch God’s own anointed town where He resides in his powerful and Thunderous self. The mental slavery of the elite African should be our biggest concern in this times. The African has been mentally configured to see “African Traditional Worship” also known as VOODOO (VODU) as evil, all in a bid to paint our true identity and heritage as Demonic. And indeed they’ve succeeded in doing so and the evidence is what we see now. For a very “Respected” Pastor like Agyin Asare to “defame” this Godly town of NOGOKPO and call it “the demonic headquarters of the Volta Region” is very disheartening. And for him to even associate is with “Witchcraft”, when it is in fact the most “Godly” town in the Volta Region is also very annoying. No single Voltarian would ever associate Nogokpo with witchcraft. And Witchcraft is very very different from the Voodoo practice in Nogokpo. The Christian propaganda of painting everything concerning “Traditional African spirituality” as “Demonic” is exactly what Pastor AgyinAsare exhibited. Painting a whole town as a “Demonic Headquarters” of “Witchcrafts” when “Witches” and “Wizards” don’t stay in Nogokpo because of the powerful Deity that resides there. “Nogokpo” got its name from the corruption of the Ewe language word “Norgekpo” which means “Would stay Peacefully”. Some narratives according to oral history claimed that NOGOKPO was built by a powerful Chief named “Torgbui Sabah” who used to live in the Agbozume town. He moved to set up NOGOKPO after he embarked on a spiritual journey to Dahomey and brought back a very powerful War Deity called “Zakadza”, which is the YEWE God of Thunder and is similar to the god the Yoruba people call “Shango” or the Ancient Scandinavians or “Norse people” call “Thor”. Torgbui Sabah moved from Agbozume after some altercations with some town folks and set up the town of Nogokpo which was his Farmstead. He made it a “crime free” community and asked everybody who wanted to come and stay around him the question - - E: nor : ge : kpo: a ? And “E nor ge kpo a?” literally means “Will you live here peacefully or crime free?”. This was the question Torgbui Sabah put to anyone who asked to live near him in his new location. This is a warning in reference to his god not tolerating vice. And so NOGOKPO has been known up till date to be a town where people don’t do Vices because of the powerful nature of the Thunder God who is known to strike evil doers who are summoned before the Zakadza. The Deity in Nogokpo is based on “Speaking the truth” and “Staying away from evil and evil doers”. And this is what everybody in Volta knows Nogokpo for. Nogokpo can be called the “ African Spiritual Headquarters of the Volta Region” and that would be what it is. But to associate is with Witchcraft and call it Demonic is something worth suing for. A co worker lost the mum in volta region .Most of our workers refused to go there because of some of these believe that ewes are wicked (please forgive my word)WE went to support our brother there ,we did not die we ate the foods they gave us ,sorry to say that some refused to eat there because of this beliefs .we all still alive. The funny thing is that the people of Nogokpo and Klikor-Agbozume are all one people. There’s no difference between us, our history will tell you that and we still live that way till date. If Nogokpo is the “ Demonic Headquarters “ of the Volta Region, I don’t think Bishop and his people would be able to sleep in peace at Klikor-Agbozume. We live a country where we destroy our tribal reputations with certain things. FOR example when you say you are from volta region the impression is that you have some black powers or others tribes see you as been attributed with others gods and staffs. When someone is a fante ( they are funny and comic reliever) On the same way people say Asantes are arrogant and proud of themselves. These and many others are the reason why this nation is not developing. We are too tribalistic.
