Yes you can but not Sports Fishing. to Auto fish you right click on the bait fishing button then cast it in the water and it will just auto repeat :) FOr gilda's you want to save them for a fishing ship but thats 500 gildas so get a small clipper first for 50 gilda's so you can actually go out to sea :)

Alchemy or sell. I wouldn't recommend bait fishing at all, even at the start, if you don't want to use them yourself for something. It's not needed, a waste of labor and sport fishing in a lake gets you A LOT more gold. For some reason, when people make these videos, they pretty much never mention sport fishing in a lake even though it's easy and much better than bait fishing. It also doesn't have the risk that the ocean has with other players stealing your fish.

I've been doing the very basic health and mana regen food but Jesus... it will take forever to get my proficiency high enough to start making next tier stuff which requires 10k or something like that.

Yeah but if you are a future fishing guru, you actually need 2 fishing rods. The ultimate fishing rod requires a master's flexible fishing rod and a master's sturdy fishing rod. So you basically need the 2 basic fishing rods eventually :)

@@PvtWiggles Does proficiency affect output? I don't think I have a lot of proficiency in farming or fishing yet. My scarecrow farm is in Dewstone and I heard farming is affected by climate so I'm not sure why I would get such a low number. People told me Dewstone is good land... =/

You need to stay on top of your compost. The longer the compost is ready to harvest the lower amount of worms you get. If you harvest right after the 3hr composting period you will get 25 worms. After 3 hrs the amount of worms lowers. I dont know the depreciation rate but it does explain this if you click the question mark before you harvest the worms.

Don't use that lake spot. You can literally buy one chum and go to a lake, find a flock of birds (there is a school of fish there), throw in the chum and start fishing (can do this at 0 proficiency). The value of the fish in a spot where no chum is needed (pink puffer fish) is 1-3 gold. The value of the fish in a lake i na spot where you need chum is 3-8 gold. Chum is 1,8 gold and the school has to be chummed once and you can fish from it for a long time (other people can fish from it too). That means one fish from there pays back the chum and can potentially be more valuable than the pink puffer fish and you can then continue to fish from it (no need to use chum anymore) to get over 5 gold on average per fish.A lot better than that no chum spot shown in the video.

@@lauriedavis2821 Look at the map for any lake that has a fish stand next to it. For haranya, there is a good lake in silent forest and for nuia i think it was in northern two crowns.

The example you saw at the end is a bit poor because it's completely unnecessary to fish from that spot. Sport fishing will cost you 60 labor for hooking a fish and 50 for returning it to the fish stand to get money for it. So that's 110 labor per fish without high proficiency. However, the value of the fish he shows in the vid is not really accurate because if you actually want to start sport fishing, you can already start doing that with 0 proficiency by going to a lake that has a fish stand next to it (you can see the stands on the map). Find a flock of birds on the lake because they are always flying on top of a school of fish, throw a chum on the school of fish (you can buy chum from general merchants for 1,80g, the school will turn into a fish feeding frenzy and then you are free to start sport fishing. You just need to attack a lure to your fishing rod first. The value of the fish in these lakes is between 3 and 8 gold. The average is actually a bit over 5 gold i would say. The value of the fish in the sea is 8-30 gold if i'm not mistaken. So lake fishing might not have THE most optimal labor to gold ratio but it's very easy, doesn't take much effort and it's quite fun imo and you can do it at any level. The puffer fish he shows is between 1-3 gold per fish so it's not worth fishing in the location he mentioned unless you just want to test how sport fishing works. The fish you can get from lakes are electric ell, carp and arowana. Sizes are, using carp as an example, carp fry pack, carp pack and gargantuan carp pack. 1000 labor can basically get you around 50 gold on average which is actually not bad at all. It just gets better when you get to fish at sea and when you have a fishing boat.

By spending labour on life skills and also doing family quests, these give like 1.5k vocation for 2 mins work.

@@PvtWiggles What if you got no friends? I started fishing through this guide but after using all the bait worms from the reward I had only 48 vocation badges so can't grow worms and they're too expensive on AH for me.

Same for both. Except if you want expert fishing advice, don't do bait fishing at all unless you are going to use the fish for something yourself. Just find a lake with a fish stand next to it (can see it in the map) and start sport fishing in that lake. Don't use the spot shown at the end of this video. It doesn't need chum but the value of the fish there is much lower than in other lakes where you have to use chum. You don't even need any proficiency to start doing it. Just a chum, a lure and a rod.

Probably the fastest but why wouldn't you catch and return the fish and make a decent profit? it's 3-8 gold per fish from a lake. I wouldn't pass that.
